CONTROLLING A TRANSMISSION WITH SEGMENTED WHEELS BY MEANS OF ELECTRONIC CONTROL ELEMENTS
A control device for controlling a transmission ratio between a traction means and a sprocket set rotatable about an axle may include at least two sprockets alternatively wrapped around by the traction means. At least one of the sprockets may include several independently adjustable rim segments. Adjustment of the rim segments in relation to a fixed plane may be effected by a control device in a direction substantially transverse to the plane. The control device includes at least one electrically actuatable control element, e.g., a servomotor. The at least one control element is configured to rotate with the sprockets.
Transmission element and transmission provided with such a transmission element
A transmission element for a transmission such as a continuously variable transmission, including an elongate flexible endless carrier element provided with a number of receiving spaces with an opening and with a passage extending through the number of receiving spaces in the longitudinal direction of the carrier element, a number of engaging elements which are each received in a receiving space for movement between an active position and a passive position and which in the active position protrude further inward than in the passive position and at least out of the opening of this receiving space so as to be able to engage in the active position with a pulley of the transmission, and a spring element for providing resistance for each of the number of engaging elements during movement from the active position in the direction of the passive position.

Belt wave drives
A belt wave drive transmission system and method are shown involving a first rotor (10) having a first drum configured to rotate about its axis of rotation and a second rotor (20) having a second drum configured to rotate about its axis of rotation, where the first rotor (10) is constrained to orbit concentrically about the axis of rotation of the second drum. A belt (30) encircles the first and second drums to couple the first (10) and second (20) rotors such that the first rotor (10) moves concentrically around the second rotor (20) as the belt (30) advances about a circumference of the second drum. In further refinements, the system and method involve electrically controllably coupling at least one of the first and second rotors to the belt.

TRANSMISSION AND VEHICLE PROVIDED WITH SUCH A TRANSMISSION
The invention relates to a transmission comprising two circulating elements and a transmission element, such as a toothed belt. At least one circulating element comprises a number of contact elements for contact with the transmission element which determine a running radius of the transmission element, a radial guide for the contact elements, along which the latter are radially displaceable, displacement means for displacing the contact elements in the radial direction, wherein the transmission element has engagement elements such as teeth. Each of the contact elements comprises a base part which is in contact with the radial guide and with the displacement means, and an engagement member which is connected to the base part and is radially movable with respect to the base part, wherein the engagement member of at least one of the number of contact elements of the respective circulating element is in positive-locking contact with the transmission element.
TWO-SPEED ACCESSORY DRIVE PULLEY
An accessory drive pulley assembly is configured to transfer rotational power from an engine crankshaft to one or more vehicle accessories. The accessory drive pulley has an inner race rotatable about an axis and having an outer surface. An outer race is located radially outward from the inner race and has an inner surface facing the inner race. A wedge plate is located radially between the outer surface and the inner surface. The wedge plate is configured to expand and contract radially to selectively lock and unlock the inner race with the outer race. When locked, an associated pulley can rotate at a different speed than when unlocked.
