A steering assembly including a motor assembly, a worm assembly, and a coupler assembly is provided. The worm assembly includes a worm member defining a central axis and having first and second ends. The coupler assembly may include an adapter having a first wall defining a through-hole sized to receive a portion of the first end therein. The coupler assembly may operatively connect the motor assembly and the worm assembly. The worm member and the adapter may be arranged with one another such that pressing a swedge tool against a face of the worm member in a direction substantially parallel with the central axis deforms the first end to overlap a portion of the worm member onto a portion of the adapter adjacent the through-hole to secure the worm member and adapter to one another and to axially retain the worm member in a position relative to the central axis.

The present embodiments relates to a reducer of an electric power steering device. An embodiment of the present embodiments provides a reducer of an electric power steering device, including: a worm shaft having a first worm shaft bearing and a second worm shaft bearing coupled to one end portion, which is connected to a motor shaft, and to the other end portion, which is opposite thereto, respectively; a gear housing that contains the first worm shaft bearing, the second worm shaft bearing, and the worm shaft; and a support member coupled to the inner peripheral surface of the hear housing so as to support the outer race of the second worm shaft toward the worm wheel and filled with a viscoelastic fluid.

Transmission housing unit having an axial disk

In a transmission housing unit having a housing base body for a shaft, which is supported with a compensating arrangement between a second end face and a second guide surface. The compensating arrangement has an axial disk. The axial disk and the housing base body have corresponding geometric unbalances in accordance with the poka-yoke principle such that the axial disk is only insertable in a single orientation into the housing base body in the assembly condition.

Actuator, especially for use in a motor vehicle

In an actuator, which can be used, for example, for an electromotive parking brake, and the housing of which is equipped with a gear mechanism, axial and radial bracings of a worm member take place using a bearing bracket, the limbs of which, on both sides, engage the worm member from behind and reach radially beyond its shaft. As seizing protection against a wedging between the worm member and the worm wheel, the bearing bracket can be slightly displaced in the housing. For this purpose, by virtue of the restoring forces exerted by the spring elements, which are then tensioned, the bearing bracket together with the worm member is pushed axially and the worm wheel 20 is turned.

An apparatus to lower or raise landing gear on a trailer or semi-truck comprising a tool having a center body with a coupling device and a power coupling that is selectively engageable with a rotatable projection on the landing gear. The power coupling is operatively engaged with a worm gear within the center body and thereby with the coupling device. A powered drill is engaged with the power coupling and is actuated to rotate the power coupling in a first direction or in a second direction. The power coupling rotates the worm gear, which rotates the coupling device and thereby the projection on the landing gear. Rotation of the projection in one direction lowers the landing gear. Rotation of the projection in the opposite direction raises the landing gear. The user selects to raise or lower the landing gear simply by causing the drill chuck to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise.
