Limited oil displacement system
A limited oil displacement system is positioned within a tandem housing of a tandem of a work vehicle. The tandem includes a tandem oil where a chain assembly is at least partially submerged. The limited oil displacement system may include one or more oil displacement unit used for displacing the tandem oil. The oil displacement unit has an upper portion and a lower portion coupled to and positioned under the upper portion. A volume of the upper portion is larger than a volume of the lower portion such that when the tandem of the work vehicle pivots about a lateral axis, the oil displacement unit displaces the tandem oil more than when the tandem of the work vehicle remains horizontally.
Axle assembly having a variable lubricant restrictor
An axle assembly having a variable lubricant restrictor. The variable lubricant restrictor may be mounted to a differential carrier. Lubricant that is splashed by the differential assembly may move the variable lubricant restrictor from a first position to a second position to reduce lubricant flow through a divider wall opening.
PTO LUBRICATION SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLES
A vehicle drive system includes a first prime mover, a transmission, a power take-off (PTO), a lubrication system for the transmission and the PTO, and a control system. The transmission is powered by the first prime mover. The transmission is configured to rotate a drive shaft of the vehicle. The PTO is connected to the transmission at a first interface. The PTO includes the first interface and a second interface. The control system is configured to control fluid flow through the lubrication system for at least one mode where the input section of the PTO is stationary and the output section rotates.
Piston apparatus for use with vehicle clutches
Piston apparatus for use with vehicle clutches are disclosed. A disclosed drive unit assembly for a vehicle includes a housing defining a first cavity and a second cavity fluidly coupled together. The drive unit assembly also includes a clutch positioned in the first cavity. Rotation of the clutch conveys a fluid from the first cavity to the second cavity. The drive unit assembly also includes a port extending from the second cavity to the first cavity to receive the fluid. The drive unit assembly also includes a piston positioned in the first cavity proximate to the port and configured to operate the clutch. Movement of the piston relative to the port controls a flow of the fluid through the port from the second cavity to the first cavity.
DRIVE MODULE WITH IMPROVED EFFICIENCY
A drive module for a vehicle including an electric machine, an inverter, a gearing assembly, and a cooling system. A first housing member thermally coupled with the inverter has a first set of heat exchange surfaces and a second housing member thermally coupled with the electric machine has a second set of heat exchange surfaces. The first and second sets of heat exchange surfaces each project into an interior volume cooled by an externally supplied liquid coolant which thereby defines a heat exchanger. A lower oil sump for collecting oil used to cool the electric machine may also include heat exchange surfaces projecting into the same heat exchanger. The gearbox may include an elevated oil sump which is supplied by the same oil pump circulating oil on the electric machine wherein the elevated oil sump gravity feeds oil onto selected surfaces within the gearbox.
PASSIVE PLANETARY EMERGENCY LUBRICATION SYSTEM
An example of an emergency lubrication system for an aircraft includes a lubricant tank configured to supply a lubricant to a gearbox of the aircraft, a tube coupled between the lubricant tank and the gearbox and comprising a check ball disposed within the tube, a first lubricant line coupled to the tube and a first inlet of the gearbox, and a second lubricant line coupled to the tube and a second inlet of the gearbox.
ELECTRIC DRIVE MODULE CONFIGURED AS A BEAM AXLE
An electrically-operated electric drive module for use in a vehicle framework that is configured for a powertrain that includes an internal combustion engine. The electrically-operated electric drive module permits the vehicle to be converted to an electrically propelled vehicle in a manner that is cost-effective and which is relatively low in weight.
Lubricating fluid supply structure of power transmission device
Provided is a lubricating fluid supply structure of a power transmission device capable of stably supplying a lubricating fluid to a built-in part to which the lubricating fluid is supplied with a high priority. A supply pipe (64a) includes a first main pipe line (L1) connected to a priority part, a second main pipe line (L2) connected to a non-priority part, and an intermediate pipe line (LM) connecting the first main pipe line (L1) and the second main pipe line (L2) to each other. A first height (H1) of a connection part of the first main pipe line (L1) connected to the intermediate pipe line (LM) is lower than a second height (H2) located at the highest position in a flow path bottom surface of the intermediate pipe line (LM).
Persistent lubrication systems for aircraft gearboxes
A drive system for an aircraft such as a tiltrotor aircraft. The drive system includes first and second gearbox assemblies in mechanical communication with each other. A first lubrication system is associated with the first gearbox assembly and includes a bifurcated tank configured to contain a lubricant in an operating chamber including a lower sump and in an emergency chamber including an upper sump. A second lubrication system is associated with the second gearbox assembly. An emergency pump is in fluid communication with the emergency chamber. The emergency pump is configured to supply the lubricant to the first gearbox assembly from the emergency chamber responsive to a failure in the first lubrication system. In addition, the emergency pump is configured to supply the lubricant to the second gearbox assembly and to the operating chamber from the emergency chamber responsive to a failure in the second lubrication system.
DRIVE ASSEMBLY WITH LUBRICANT RESERVOIR
A drive assembly for a motor vehicle includes a housing having a transmission housing chamber, a reservoir, and a clutch housing chamber. At least one of the transmission housing chamber or the clutch housing chamber are fluidically connected to the reservoir. A transmission is disposed in the transmission housing chamber. A clutch is disposed in the clutch housing chamber. The clutch is drivingly connected to the transmission. An actuator has an actuating element engaged with the clutch. The clutch is moveable by the actuating element between a disengaged position and an engaged position. A valve is operatively connected to the actuating element of the actuator to allow lubricant flow from the reservoir to at least one of the transmission housing chamber and the clutch housing chamber when the clutch is in the engaged position and to prevent lubricant flow from the reservoir when the clutch is in the disengaged position
