A gear unit includes a housing, a trough for guiding oil and reducing losses due to splashing surrounding a circumferential section of a toothing part, particularly a gear wheel, especially in the radial and axial direction, the trough including at least three parts, e.g., at least one bottom plate and two side walls, the bottom plate being screw-connected to the two side walls, the trough being fastened to the housing, the trough having an opening, particularly a channel, especially at its lowest surface area, e.g., particularly at the surface area having the greatest radial distance, in particular, during rotational movement of the gear wheel, oil being conveyed from the oil pan of the gear unit through the opening between the trough and gear wheel, especially to a position higher than the level of the oil pan, the bottom plate and the side walls being stamped bent parts.

INTEGRATED OIL CAPTURE AND GASKET SYSTEM

A system for retaining and redistributing a fluid includes a capture member including a recessed surface defining a reservoir and a sealing surface extending around a perimeter of the recessed surface, the sealing surface including a plurality of fastener openings, a sealing member adjacent to and coupled with the sealing surface of the capture member, the sealing member encircling the plurality of fastener openings, a cover member coupled to the capture member, and at least one fastener coupling the cover member to the capture member. The cover member and the capture member compressively secure the sealing member therebetween to retain the fluid between the cover member and the capture member.

A vehicle drive-force transmitting apparatus including: a differential ring gear that is to be rotated about a first axis; a pump that is to be driven when the differential ring gear is rotated; a casing that stores therein the differential ring gear and the pump; a pipe that is connected to the pump so as to supply oil sucked by the pump, to lubrication-required elements of the drive-force transmitting apparatus; a catch tank that is provided by a rib provided in the casing; and a guide way that is provided by a rib provided in the casing. The guide way is configured to guide the oil discharged from the pipe, to the catch tank.

Oil container for cooling and/or lubricating bearings of a drive train of a vehicle, in particular of a motor vehicle

An oil container for cooling and/or lubricating bearings of a drive train of a vehicle. The drive train has a driveshaft, a gear mechanism, a differential and a wheel driveshaft. The differential has a final drive gearwheel in engagement with a gearwheel of the gear mechanism and they splash at least partially in an oil sump region. The gearwheels of the gear mechanism and/or the final drive gearwheel form at least two gear stages. The structural complexity of a drive train is reduced or the efficiency of a drive train is increased when the oil container is functionally configured and/or arranged such that the oil container is arranged in the region between the two gear stages and substantially on the side of the driveshaft and/or the wheel driveshaft lying opposite the oil sump region.

Transmission

An oil pan includes a lubricant guide surface positioned above a lower end of an output gear located at the lowest position in a gear train. The lubricant guide surface is inclined so as to descend toward the output gear in an axial view of the output gear, and is inclined so as to descend from opposite ends to a central part in the axial direction of the output gear on the lubricant guide surface.

A straddle vehicle includes: a prime mover; a hydraulically actuated main clutch disposed in a power transmission route between the prime mover and a drive wheel; an oil control valve unit that controls flow of a hydraulic oil supplied to the main clutch; and a power unit case including a case body and a cover removably mounted on the case body, the power unit case accommodating at least the main clutch. The oil control valve unit is secured to the case body.

DRIVELINE UNIT WITH INTERNAL LUBRICATION SYSTEM

In at least some implementations, an automotive driveline unit includes a main housing having an interior and a first reservoir in the interior arranged to collect lubricant, the main housing also having a feed passage that is open to the first reservoir, a gear located within the interior and having a periphery arranged in the first reservoir so that rotation of the gear causes the gear to engage and displace some of the lubricant from the first reservoir, and a second housing carried by the main housing. A second reservoir is defined between the main housing and the second housing, the second reservoir is communicated with the first reservoir via the feed passage and includes multiple, spaced apart outlets through which lubricant exits the second reservoir at different locations to provide lubricant to different areas of the interior of the main housing.

Transmission and Drive Train for a Motor Vehicle

A transmission (G) for a motor vehicle includes a pump (P), an oil sump (S), a hydraulic control unit (HCU), a gear set (RS) for providing different transmission ratios between an input shaft (GW1) and an output shaft (GW2) of the transmission (G), and a cavity (HY) arranged on an input side, in which a torque converter (TC) and/or an electric machine (EM) are accommodated. The cavity (HY) is connected to the oil sump (S) via a gap (C) configured for a passive return of oil out of the cavity (HY) into the oil sump (S). In order to reduce the gap (C), a separating element (T) is configured for making it difficult for oil to flow out of the oil sump (S) to the cavity (HY). A drive train comprising such a transmission (G) is also provided.
