A planetary gear of the planetary gear reducer is a tower-shaped gear and realizes a relatively high transmission ratio under a condition that an axial length is relatively small.

ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A PLANETARY GEARSET

The invention concerns an assembly comprising an epicycloidal gear train (10) having a central pinion (26), an outer crown (28) and satellite pinions (32) in engagement with the central pinion (26) and the outer crown (28) and each mounted freely rotatable on a satellite carrier (36), the central pinion (26) surrounding and being rotationally fixed to a shaft (24) and the gear train comprising means for lubricating the teeth and axes (34) of the satellite pinions (32), these means including an annular cup (56) fixed to the satellite carrier (36) opened radially inward. According to the invention, the assembly includes fixed oil spraying means (64) configured to spray oil towards oil deflecting means (70) towards the inside of the annular cup (56).

Electric drive unit cooling systems and methods

Systems and methods for cooling power transmission systems are include providing oil through an aperture defined in a housing to a stator cooling ring, through the stator cooling ring and into stator cooling channels, through the stator cooling channels and into spaces defined between the housing and jet rings, and through holes in the jet rings and onto the end-windings. The stator cooling ring, stator cooling channels and jet rings can encircle the stator and end-windings and, via the holes in the jet rings, spray pressurized jets of oil from various angles onto the end-windings, and in particular middle regions thereof. Seals may be used between the jet rings and housing, and between the jet rings and stator ends. The seals may be compressed so as to form an interference fit between the jet rings and housing or stator ends as the case may be.
