A second seal is provided for selectively sealing between the ballscrew and a second axial end of the ballnut, the second seal comprising a ballscrew seal mounted for axial movement with the ballscrew, and configured to make sealing engagement with the ballnut when the ballscrew is in a first axial position relative to the ballnut to form a chamber between the first and second seals, but not to make sealing engagement with the ballnut when the ballscrew assembly is in a second axial position relative thereto.

Slew drive systems for rotational and axial load bearing, e.g., in applications including satellite-based telecommunications systems, are disclosed herein. In some cases, slew drive systems disclosed herein can improve efficiency, accuracy, and/or reliability of telecommunication systems while reducing the cost and complexity of manufacture. For example, a slew drive system can comprise a threaded plug and a retaining ring in addition to a worm gear, a plurality of tapered roller bearings, and a worm wheel, allowing a significant reduction in material and labor costs of slew drive manufacture, which can be critical in the manufacture of expensive telecommunications system actuator assemblies.

A front grease retention unit is provided under a front plunger and a wall is provided between the retention unit and a gear accommodation unit. Furthermore, a front grease receiving member is provided under the front plunger and a front metal bearing, and grease falling into the front grease receiving member is sent toward the outer circumferential face of the front plunger. The grease is pushed out by using the vertical oscillation of a front metal anchor bolt in orbital mode. A rear grease receiving member is provided under a rear plunger and a rear metal bearing, and grease falling into the rear grease receiving member is sent toward the outer circumferential face of the rear plunger. The grease in a grease reservoir groove is pushed out by using the vertical oscillation of a rear metal anchor bolt in orbital mode.
