A lubricating oil for lubricating a gear of the transmission is stored in a bottom portion of the housing. The housing includes a refrigerant passage through which a refrigerant for cooling the rotary electric machine flows, and a storage portion adjacent to the refrigerant passage and configured to temporarily store the lubricating oil scooped up by the gear of the transmission.

Drive device

In a drive device, a first flow path of a fluid connects a gear accommodation portion and an inlet of a pump. A second flow path connects an outlet of the pump and one end of a third flow path via a cooler. The third flow path is inside a partition wall of a housing and intersects a rotation axis of a first shaft. A fourth flow path connects another end of the third flow path and one end of a fifth flow path. The fifth flow path is inside a gear side lid of the housing. Another end of the fifth flow path is connected to one end of a second shaft in an axial direction. One end of a sixth flow path is connected to another end of the third flow path. Another end of the sixth flow path is inside a housing tubular portion.

Fluid system for a vehicle and a diagnostic method for the system

A vehicle system includes a vehicle component with a component temperature sensor, and a fluid circuit in fluid communication with the component and with a fluid temperature sensor. A controller is in communication with the component sensor and the fluid sensor. The controller is configured to, in response to a temperature difference between the component sensor and the fluid sensor being greater than a predetermined threshold value, output a flag or a diagnostic code indicative of a fluid level in the fluid circuit. A vehicle diagnostic method and a vehicle are also provided.
