No dead zone trigger system
A trigger system includes a jaw latch coupled to an inner surface of a first jaw member of a pair of jaws of a coil-spring trap, the jaw latch defining a ledge. A jaw dog includes a body portion having an elongate linear configuration and opposed proximal and distal ends, the proximal end including a latch flange selectively positioned on the ledge at a set configuration. A pan has a continuous peripheral edge and a cam member extending downwardly from the peripheral edge, the pan defining a planar configuration that is perfectly horizontal at the set configuration. The body portion defines a cam ridge configured to partially receive the cam member at the set configuration. The trigger system is fired when pressure is detected at any point on the pan surface.
Method and apparatus for stabilizing an animal trap
The present invention is directed to one or more anchors that can be used to stabilize various types of animal traps to the ground. The invention comprises a clamping structure having at least two holes formed therein. The holes are axially aligned and formed in the top and bottom members of the structure. The invention further comprises a stake for anchoring the invention and trap to the ground. The clamping structure is designed to engage an edge or flange of an animal trap by positioning the flange in a groove in the structure and securing the structure to the flange using a threaded fastener such as a set screw. A threaded stake may be secured to a flange of the trap to anchor and stabilize the trap on the ground.
Trap bracket
An article of manufacture for use by trappers of fur bearing animals. The article of manufacture consists of a body having a plurality of circular apertures therethrough and a plurality of elongated apertures therethrough. And, a method for positioning a trap for trapping a fur bearing animal, the method using the article of manufacture provided the trap has a tang, by the steps of: (a) positioning the article of manufacture to an object; and (b) inserting said tang into one of the elongated apertures of the article. If the trap does not have a tang, but does have a coil spring, then a clip having a tang can be inserted into the spring to adapt the trap for positioning according to the method of the instant invention.
Hand-held rodent trap setting devices with trap retainer
A hand-held rodent trap setting device includes a base supporting a rodent trap, a handle, and a releasable trap retainer that user-releasably secures the rodent trap to the platform. The device allows a user to arm the trap near a delivery location, and place the trap even in relatively inaccessible locations. The retainer may include a clamping arm that presses down on the top surface of the trap base, a spring-loaded ball that presses up on the underside of the trap base, and/or a magnet that attaches to a metallic part of the rodent trap such as the arm bar hinge. A trap release such as a clamping arm actuator, a longitudinal plunger, and/or a slidable magnet support allows detaching the rodent trap after arming. A spring-loaded safety catch allows automatically securing the kill bar of the trap when the trap is being armed while secured to the platform.
