Seal ring
Provided is a seal ring configured so that stable lubrication performance can be provided across a wide range of rotation speed. A seal ring for sealing a clearance between a rotary shaft and a housing includes inclined grooves formed at a sliding surface so as to be arranged in a circumferential direction, the inclined grooves being open on an outer diameter side of the seal ring to generate a drawing pressure. The seal ring further includes supply grooves being open on a sealed fluid side of the seal ring and extending in a radially outward direction toward inner diameter sides of the inclined grooves.
Method and apparatus for handling a product
A method for handling a product, in particular a viscous, pasty product, with at least one rotating shaft (3, 11) in a product space (5), a driving spindle (11) of the shaft (3) is mounted and sealed outside the product space (5) in a housing consisting of a plurality of parts (7, 8, 12). The sealing is brought about by at least two seals (2, 4), wherein a dynamic seal (2) follows an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) and takes on dynamic sealing of the rotating shaft (3), while another seal (4) compensates for an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) in relation to the housing by plastic or elastic deformation and therefore prevents a leakage between the housing part (12), which moves eccentrically, and a rigid housing (10). A defined quantity of liquid, which serves as a blocking agent and lubricant for the dynamic seal (2) of the shaft (3) towards the housing part (7), is metered in here, the liquid, apart from a residual excess, being drawn into the dynamic seal (2) by a pressure difference therewithin and thereby forming an effective block and seal.
Shaft-cylinder assembly for high temperature operation
The present invention provides a shaft-cylinder assembly for high-temperature operation comprising a pair of first and second dynamic sealing members having a helical coiled seal ring structure configured to be in contact with the shaft for providing dynamic sealing function in the cylinder; and a cylindrical cooling jacket configured to circumferentially surround the dynamic sealing members such that a cavity is defined between the dynamic sealing members inside the cooling jacket; wherein the cooling jacket comprises one or more inflow cooling channels and one or more outflow cooling channels configured to communicating with the cavity and circulating a cooling fluid through the cavity for moving heat away from the dynamic sealing members.
Pressurized drive shaft seal for dispensing systems and a method for using the same
A seal assembly including at least one conduit configured to allow a medium to flow therethrough, an annular retaining means operably coupled to the conduit, and an annular resilient seal member disposed in the annular retaining means. A method of sealing a dispensing system containing a food product creating a food product pressure, wherein the dispensing systems includes a drive shaft operably coupled to a seal assembly, the seal assembly including an annular resilient seal member disposed in an annular retaining member, the annular retaining member being operably coupled to at least one conduit, the method including the steps of: dispensing a medium through the at least one conduit to enter the annular resilient seal member to create a seal pressure greater than or equal to the food product pressure.
Lubrication system for a piston pump
A piston assembly for a piston pump includes an actuator rod, a piston coupled to the actuator rod and configured to contact a radially-inner wall of a cylinder, and a piston support structure coupled to the actuator rod and configured to contact the radially-inner wall of the cylinder. A fluid channel extends through the actuator rod and the piston support structure, and the fluid channel is configured to deliver a lubricating fluid to an annular space positioned between the piston and the piston support structure along an axial axis of the piston assembly.
SEAL RING AND SEALED STRUCTURE
A circular annular seal ring made of a resin is disposed between an inner member and an outer member that rotate relative to each other. The outer member includes a liquid-storing space and an inner surface having a circular cross section. The inner member is disposed in the liquid-storing space and includes a circumferential groove. The seal ring is stationary relative to the outer member and is slidably disposed in the circumferential groove of the inner member. Grooves are formed on an end surface on an external space side of the seal ring. Each groove has an end portion that opens at an inner peripheral surface of the seal ring, and extends in a direction opposite to a main rotational direction of the inner member relative to the seal ring from the open end portion, but does not extend in the main rotational direction from the open end portion.
Sealing system for rotary shaft
A sealing unit for a drive shaft driving a working fluid; the sealing unit comprising a sleeve attached to the drive shaft and a gland attached to the housing, a static seal ring attached to the gland and in close proximity to the sleeve, and a stuffing box about the static seal ring, fibrous packing seal blocking the distal and proximal ends of the stuffing box and a first sealant comprising a viscous, non-Newtonian fluid that is injected into the stuffing box under a first pressure exceeding the pressure of the working fluid; the sealing unit further comprising an inner fluid seal of a Newtonian fluid between the first sealant and the drive shaft upstream of the first sealant, such that the Newtonian fluid seal is kept at a pressure slightly higher than the pressure of the working fluid and prevents the working fluid from reaching the first sealant.
GLAND PACKING AND PACKING STRUCTURE
A gland packing includes a gland packing body made of expanded graphite. The gland packing body has a cylindrical shape, and has a plurality of layers formed in a radial direction. The gland packing body has first and second surfaces, which are both end surfaces in an axial direction. The gland packing further includes an annular first sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular second sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular first porous member, and an annular second porous member. The first sheet portion is arranged on the first surface. The second sheet portion is arranged on the second surface. The first porous member is arranged on the first sheet portion. The second porous member is arranged on the second sheet portion.
SEALING DEVICE WITH COOLING FUNCTION
A sealing device for sealing the intermediate space between a housing and a shaft rotatably mounted in the housing, having a first plate-shaped body with a front face, a rear face, and a first opening, which extends from the front face to the rear face and is suitable for feeding through the shaft, and having a cooling line, which runs in the body and is suitable for conducting a cooling medium. The first body is suitable for being tightly secured to the housing such that the shaft rotatably mounted in the housing is guided through the first opening. The first opening is suitable for introducing sealant such that the sealant seals an intermediate space between the shaft and the first body. The cooling line is guided around the first opening between a cooling line inlet and a cooling line outlet for the cooling medium such that heat produced from rotating the shaft can be dissipated by the cooling medium in a spatially homogenous manner.
