Rotor shaft seal assembly
09709172 · 2017-07-18 · ·

A shaft seal assembly for sealing along a rotor shaft is provided. The shaft seal assembly includes a seal housing, annular inner and outer seal members, an annular middle element, and an end plate. The seal housing has a seal member bore and a shaft bore. The annular inner and outer seal members are configured to be disposed in the seal member bore. The middle element is disposed between the inner seal member and the outer seal member within the seal member bore. The end plate is attached to the seal housing and covers a portion of the seal member bore. The middle element biases the inner seal member against the seal housing and biases the outer seal member against the end plate.

Pump Seal Lubricator

The disclosed invention modifies existing centrifugal pump design by replacing a compression seal with a mechanical seal and lubricant reservoir. The mechanical seal creates a sealed chamber to lubricate the rotating shaft. The rotating shaft is covered in a shaft sleeve that facilitates the flow of lubricant to and from the sealed chamber. This improvement provides independent lubrication to the centrifugal pump to protect against seal failure.

SOLID PLATE AND STUFFING BOX COMPRISING THE SOLID PLATE

The present invention relates to a stuffing box assembly comprising a stuffing box and a solid plate, the solid plate may be placed at the shaft introducing end of the stuffing box, between the stuffing box and a surface, when the stuffing box assembly is mounted on to the surface, the solid plate may be on a first side provided with a pressure plate flange and on a second side be provided with a counter pressure plate flange, wherein the pressure plate flange and/or the counter pressure plate flange is provided with one or more locking projections pointing towards the solid plate.

Shaft seal device, seal member and hydroelectric power generation device

Provided is a shaft seal device provided with a seal member which possesses excellent liquid tightness, small friction resistance and high wear resistance. In a shaft seal device which is arranged around the periphery of a shaft which is supported in a rotatable manner or in a reciprocating manner, and is provided with a seal member for securing liquid tightness around the shaft, the seal member is formed of a porous body formed by using a hydrophilic polymer resin in which chains are cross-linked. The shaft seal device is also characterized in that: the shaft is a shaft which extends between a liquid phase region and a gas phase region; the seal member is a seal member which suppresses a leakage of a liquid to the gas phase region from the liquid phase region; and an aqueous lubricant which is prepared by adding a water soluble thickening agent is impregnated into the seal member.

Stuffing box cooling system

A system for cooling packing material utilized for sealing a shaft moving therethrough is described. The packing material held in place by at least one packing cup, wherein a coolant is directed axially through a significant volume of each packing cup close to the packing material. The present system finds use for compressors and pumps where pressure requirements of the fluids acted upon demand the use of packing materials in close contact with the moving shafts.

BEARING WITH INTEGRAL DIVERTED LANTERN RING FOR A ROTARY MECHANICAL DEVICE
20170130729 · 2017-05-11 ·

A bearing with an integral diverted lantern ring for installation into the seal cavity of a rotary mechanical device to provide a bearing surface and allow for flush fluid to engage the shaft closer to the motor end is provided. The bearing eliminates whip in a rotating shaft and is split to allow easy installation over an installed shaft. The bearing is substantially cylindrical with an inner bore closely approximating the outer diameter of the shaft. The diverted lantern ring includes an outer groove at the impeller end on the outer surface at a flush port and a groove on the inner surface at a location closer to the motor end. Flush fluid channels are provided between the outer groove and inner groove of the bearing. The purpose is to redirect the external flush from the impeller end on the OD to the motor end on the ID, thus repositioning the flush deposit on the sleeve, under the bearing. This allows the throttling characteristic of the close clearance bearing surface to increase.

Wireline pressure control apparatus

A wireline pressure control apparatus for use in an oil or gas well, comprising a grease injector having first and second tubes (10) and a bore (12), and a grease injection channel in communication with the bore for injecting grease between the outer surface of the wireline and the inner surface of the bore. The bore (12) has radial passages (15) at spaced apart locations providing a leak path for fluids between the inner surface of the bore and the outer surface of the tubes, allowing pressure to equalize. The radial passages are in fluid communication with one another outwith the bore.

Apparatus for automatically lubricating an oil well sucker rod stuffing box
09605506 · 2017-03-28 · ·

A stuffing box lubrication system for oilfield pumping units automatically delivers to the stuffing box, at specified time intervals, a precise volume of lubricant. The stuffing box lubrication system has a grease reservoir, a pump, a controller, a high pressure hose and grease fitting, and a stuffing box which receives the grease. In situations where the stuffing box in use is not equipped with a ported inlet for receiving the grease, the present invention may further include a stuffing box adapter, having a ported inlet, where the stuffing box adapter couples with the stuffing box.

FLUID END ASSEMBLY

A fluid end assembly having a plurality of fluid end sections positioned in a side-by-side relationship. Each fluid end section has a housing made of multiple-piece construction. One or more pieces of the housing are configured to have a plurality of stay rods attached thereto. The stay rods interconnect the fluid end assembly and a power end assembly.

COOLING SLEEVE FOR USE WITH A FLUID END

A fluid end section which cools plunger packing during operation. The fluid end section uses a cooling sleeve that surrounds a portion of a fluid end housing and a stuffing box. A plunger packing is situated within the stuffing box. A cooling fluid may be circulated within a passage formed between the cooling sleeve and stuffing box so that it continuously cools components of the fluid end section during operation.
