Non-pressure relieving ball valve

A non-pressure relieving ball valve that includes: a stem connected to a handle regulating flow of pressurized fluid entering in the ball valve, a ball coupled to the stem and configured to control flow of the pressurized fluid through the ball valve, a seat abutting the ball to retain the in place, a sealing gasket provided in the ball valve and configured to restrict the flow of the pressurized fluid through the ball valve when the ball valve is in a closed position, and a slotted ring configured to be fitted in the ball valve between the seat and the sealing gasket. The slotted ring is adapted to permit ingress of pressurized fluid in slots defined on the slotted ring to enable balancing of fluid pressures on either side of the seat.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VALVE SEAT ARRANGEMENTS

A valve assembly includes a valve body and a valve member extending through at least a portion of the valve body. The valve assembly also includes a seat pocket forming an annular recess in the valve body and a seat arrangement positioned at least partially within the seat pocket. The seat arrangement includes a lower seat extending radially inward from the annular recess toward the valve cavity axis. The seat arrangement also includes an upper seat at least partially overlapping the lower seat, the upper seat extending radially inward toward the valve cavity axis to contact the valve member along a seat face. The seat arrangement further includes an interface seal positioned along an interface between the upper seat and the lower seat, the interface seal receiving a fluid pressure to drive the lower seat radially outward and into the annular recess.

Pressure-energized probe seal for female hydraulic coupling member

A probe seal for a female hydraulic coupling member has both internal and external pressure-energized seals. The outer wall or opposing ends of the seal have one or more pressure-energized seals for sealing between the body of the probe seal and the body of a coupling member in which the probe seal is installed. Annular, L-shaped, T-shaped or angled grooves in the inner wall of the seal form cavities and sealing projections that can be urged in an inward, radial direction by fluid pressure within an associated cavity to increase the sealing effectiveness between the body of the seal and the probe of a male hydraulic coupling member inserted in the receiving chamber of the female coupling member.

Floating valve seat for a rotary control valve for use in severe service applications

A valve seat is provided for use in a rotary valve for use in highly corrosive and abrasive applications. The valve seat includes a seat body adapted to selectively engage a portion of the floating ball element. The valve seat also includes a sealing element disposed in a first groove formed in the seat body and adapted to prevent fluid flow between the seat body and the valve body. The valve seat further includes a first bearing disposed in a second groove formed in the seat body, and a second bearing disposed in a third groove formed in the seat body, wherein the second and third grooves are formed immediately adjacent the first groove such that the first and second bearings are disposed immediately adjacent the sealing element.

Ball valve seal

A seal for a ball valve comprising a resilient ring defining an engagement feature; a first polymer ring disposed adjacent to a first axial end of the resilient ring and coupled with the engagement feature; and a second polymer ring disposed adjacent to a second axial end of the resilient ring and coupled with the engagement feature.

A valve seal device is for a valve in a pipeline. The valve seal device has four moveable seats configured for sealingly contacting a valve member, two seats being positioned on each side of the valve member. At least one of the moveable seats on each side of the valve member is an actuation seat being controllable from a non-contact position to a contact position where it seals against the valve member.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes an annular ball valve seat including an annular spring, which biases the annular ball valve seat axially. More specifically, in certain embodiments, the annular ball valve seat includes a main body section, a lip section extending from the main body section, and a seat groove between the main body section and the lip section, wherein the first annular spring is disposed within the seat groove. A first leg of the annular spring biases the lip section in a first axial direction and a second leg of the annular spring biases the main body section in a second axial direction opposite the first axial direction. The annular ball valve seat is configured to be disposed within a ball valve, on either side of a ball of the ball valve. The particular design of the annular ball valve seat enables pressure within a body cavity of the ball valve to be self-relieving.
