A pump device 1 includes a relief valve 42 having a ball 45 and a valve seat 44. The valve seat 44 has a ring-shaped seat surface 52 having a wide portion 52a and a narrow portion 52b on which the ball 45 is seated. Upon valve opening, the ball 45 is pressed in a valve opening direction by a pressing force F1 according to a pressure P of working fluid while being pressed against the wide portion 52a. The ball 45 rolls on the seat surface 52 upon the valve opening while continuing or keeping contact with the wide portion 52a. At this time, the ball 45 is stably held with the ball 45 contacting the wide portion 52a of the seat surface 52. Noise of the relief valve 42 caused by vibration of the ball 45 is therefore suppressed.

Pressure regulating check valve

Apparatuses and methods for pressure regulating check valve assemblies are described. In an example, the check valve assembly comprises a housing defining a fluid passage having a fluid inlet side and a fluid outlet side. A first check valve positioned within the fluid passage oriented to restrict fluid flow from the fluid inlet side and a second check valve positioned within the fluid passage oriented to restrict fluid flow from the fluid outlet side. A flow dampener is positioned within the fluid passage and between the first and second check valves.

A drill string safety valve device (1) has a body (2) with a through-going flow bore (25) and connectors (3, 4) at respective ends (19, 18) for connection to tubulars, such as pipe joints. A valve member (7; 29) is movably arranged in said flow bore (25) and configured for being set in one of two states: a first state of the valve member allows fluid to flow in both directions though the flow bore, and a second state of the valve member allows fluid flow through the flow bore in only one direction. The valve member may be a rotatable ball valve (7) with a through-going flow bore (21).

Combination control and check valve assembly for a wet piping system

A combination control and check valve assembly for a wet piping system includes a control valve in the form of a ball valve and a one-way check valve mounted within the flow pathway of the ball valve. A valve actuation assembly is mounted to the valve assembly to selectively rotate the ball valve between the open and closed positions thereof. The valve actuation assembly is mounted to a first side of the valve assembly and rotationally fixed to the ball, whereby rotation of the valve actuation assembly rotates the ball between the open and closed positions. A side opening is formed in a second side of the valve assembly that is angularly spaced from the first side. The side opening is positioned to align with the fluid flow pathway of the ball valve in the closed position thereof to provide access to the check valve.

In a valve (10) having a pneumatic or hydraulic drive unit (20), the drive unit (20) includes a cylinder (22), a piston (24), a spindle unit (26) mounted for axial movement in the cylinder (22), and a housing cover (28), the piston (24) dividing the interior of the cylinder (22) into a cover-side space (42) and a valve seat-side space (40), and a duct (66) within the spindle unit (26) leading to the valve seat-side space (40). Formed in the housing cover (28) are a fluid intake (44) and a fluid exit (46) as well as a pressure fluid duct (48) in fluid communication with the fluid intake (44) and an outlet duct (50) in fluid communication with the fluid exit (46). The pressure fluid duct (48) branches into two partial ducts (54, 56), a first partial duct (54) extending through the spindle unit (26) into the valve seat-side space (40) and opening out there, and a second partial duct (56) opening out into the cover-side space (42), and a closure body (68) being provided which seals either the first partial duct (54) or the second partial duct (56) in a fluid-tight manner. Furthermore, a modular system (70) and a method for manufacturing valves (10) are indicated.
