Check valve

A check valve has an inlet end, a transition part and an outlet end, with a pair of vertically orientated lips. The transition part is twisted about the axis extending from the inlet to the outlet. As fluid passes through the check valve, the twisted portion of the check valve will impart a swirling motion to the fluid as the fluids leaves the check valve via the outlet end.

The replaceable cartridge is removably coupled to the power supply portion such that the second wicking part can be engaged and disengaged from the heater and, when disengaged, the fluid transfer element is a part of the cartridge.

A gas turbine engine includes a main compressor section having a downstream most location, and a turbine section, with both the main compressor section and the turbine section housing rotatable components. A first tap taps air compressed by the main compressor section at an upstream location upstream of the downstream most location. The first tap passes through a heat exchanger, and to a cooling compressor. Air downstream of the cooling compressor is selectively connected to reach at least one of the rotatable components. The cooling compressor is connected to rotate at a speed proportional to a rotational speed in one of the main compressor section and the turbine section. A valve system includes a check valve for selectively blocking flow downstream of the cooling compressor from reaching the at least one rotatable component. A dump valve selectively dumps air downstream of the cooling compressor. A method is also disclosed.

A filter device for a vacuum cleaner having a turbine device and a motor. The vacuum cleaner includes two chambers and filter elements of the filter device are dedusted by an abrupt change in position of a dividing element in the chambers. Since, when one of the two chambers is being dedusted, the suction operation of the vacuum cleaner can be maintained through the other chamber, the filter dedusting can advantageously take place during continued suction operation of the vacuum cleaner. A method for dedusting a filter device in a vacuum cleaner, wherein, as a result of a valve being actuated, an air volume is driven out of one of the two chambers so that a dividing element is advantageously made to change position, and this can result in a backflushing pulse and mechanical shaking of the filter element, and dedusting of the filter device.
