A liquid dispensing system includes at least one container for storing the liquid to be dispensed, the at least one container having a neck defining an fill opening for the liquid. The system includes a liquid dispensing device releasably connectable to the at least one container, an exchangeable cartridge for an additive to be mixed with the stored liquid, where the cartridge is accommodated in the neck, and means for opening the cartridge. The cartridge includes a one-piece hollow body filled with the additive and with a pressurized gas, and the opening means include at least one piercing member arranged to pierce a wall of the hollow body. A method of dispensing a liquid by using the liquid dispensing system, and a cartridge for use in the liquid dispensing system and/or method.

[Solution] A check-valve opens and closes an opening provided in a main body and prevents a backflow of a fluid passing through the opening; and the check-valve includes a base part 71 which is flexible, and a valve part 72 which opens and closes the opening, has a thickness thinner than a thickness of the base part 71, and is connected to the base part 71 in a state in which a periphery of the valve part 72 is surrounded with the base part 71. The valve part 72 seals the opening in a normal state of the valve part 72 being pre-urged toward the main body by an elasticity of the base part 71, and opens the opening when the fluid passes through the opening in one direction.

The one-piece fill valve is at least partially positioned within the fill port. The fill valve includes a slit, which, in a closed state, prevents gas in the storage chamber from being discharged to the atmosphere through the fill valve. In an open state of the slit, the slit permits the storage chamber to be refilled with compressed gas through the fill valve. A pressure exerted on a portion of the fill valve in which the slit is defined by compressed gas within the storage chamber maintains the slit in the closed state.

The present disclosure provides a backflow prevention device, comprising: an inlet chamber comprising at least two ports, in which a first port is used for receiving a fluid; a chamber-separating component comprising a separating member and a relief valve; an outlet chamber separated from the inlet chamber by the separating member; the relief valve being operatively connected with the separating member for opening or closing a drain port of the outlet chamber; wherein the fluid is allowed to be delivered from the outlet chamber only when the relief valve is closed by means of a differential pressure applied on the separating member. Also provided is a dialysis apparatus comprising the backflow prevention device. According to the present disclosure, the backflow prevention device has simple structure, reduced dead space and small sizes and can work reliably.

The valve may be adjusted between a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, where in the first mode of operation is permitted to flow through the valve on exhalation but not on inhalation and in the second mode of operation air is obstructed from flowing through the valve on exhalation and inhalation. There is an optional third mode of operation where air is permitted to flow through the valve on inhalation and exhalation.
