The T&P relief valve includes a valve spring which is sealed within a protective chamber configured to contain a first protective fluid. The valve spring is protected, by the protective chamber and first protective fluid, from corrosion, calcification and/or mineral deposits which would affect the valve assembly. A thermal element assembly is carried by an internal tongue of the valve casing. A plunger casing is configured to contain a second protective fluid to protect the upper end and captive plunger from corrosion, calcification and/or mineral deposits which could affect the thermal element. The protective chamber includes a sealing flange at a top thereof. An end cap assembly includes an end cap secured to the flange of the valve casing with the sealing flange of the protective chamber therebetween to define a casing seal for the protective chamber and the open top of the valve casing.

ALL-METAL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

A pressure relief valve having two rigid sealing surfaces lapped to a smoothness Ra of 8 micro-inches or less, and flatness within 80 micro-inches, forms a reliable seal by direct contact therebetween without an elastomer. The sealing surfaces and surrounding structures can be made of one or more metals, such as alloys of stainless steel, and can be CTE-matched, so that the valve is not impeded by environmental temperature changes. In a disclosed embodiment, a poppet is axially pressed against a seal plate by a spring. The poppet can be axially stabilized by sliding within a surrounding cylinder or spacer, and can contact the surrounding surface with a plurality of arms that reduce friction and enable gas flow therebetween. The poppet can be made from anti-galling Nitronic 60 alloy, and the surrounding structures can be stainless steel. Embodiments are suitable for low-pressure gas applications in extreme environments.

A spring-operated relief valve can include an adjustable main spring to bias the valve closed and a load cell that is configured to measure a force exerted by the main spring. Measurements from the load cell can be used to determine a set or crack pressure in the spring-operated relief valve, and to monitor operation of the spring-operated relief valve.

RECIPROCATING GAS COMPRESSOR VALVE

A reciprocating gas compressor valve having a plurality of clusters of kidney shaped holes positioned along a common circular or annular locus in the main body and a sealing element with a top portion, a bottom portion and a tubular section. The tubular section is integrally connected to the top portion and bottom portion. In an open position, a flow pathway is provided through the clusters of kidney shaped holes and the tubular section and the bottom profile abuts a stop surface of the valve. In a closed position, the top profile abuts the seat for sealing gas flow within the valve.

COMPRESSION MOLDED PRV SEALING FLAP

A pressure relief valve flap includes an attachment portion, a main portion, and a hinge portion. The attachment portion is configured to be attached to the housing. The main portion has a lip and at least one damping feature. The lip extends around at least a portion of a periphery of the main portion. The hinge portion is disposed between and connects the main portion and the attachment portion. When the attachment portion is attached to the housing, the main portion is configured to move between a closed position and an opened position. When the main portion moves from the opened position to the closed position, the at least one damping feature is configured to engage the housing prior to the lip of the main portion and thereby dampen noise created when the lip of the main portion engages the housing.

Fluid flow device

A device for controlling the flow of fluid through a conduit from an upstream side of the device to a downstream side of the device. The device includes a valve seat mounted on a casing that defines a valve aperture, a mounting member arranged on the downstream side of the valve aperture; a valve member mounted on the mounting member. The valve member is arranged to selectively open and close the valve aperture thereby controlling the flow of the fluid through the valve aperture. A seal retaining member is arranged adjacent the valve seat and, with the valve seat, defines a seal retaining groove. A compliant seal within the seal retaining groove seals the valve aperture when the valve member is moved to close the valve aperture.

ELECTRO-MECHANICAL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

Examples of a pressure relief valve are provided. An example pressure relief valve comprises a main seal ring, a poppet configured to form a seal with the main seal ring, a dynamic wear sleeve configured to cover the main seal ring when the pressure relief valve is at least partially open and comprising a reduced cross-sectional area of the inner diameter at one end of the dynamic wear sleeve, an electro-mechanical clutch assembly, and wherein the pressure relief valve is actuated by the electro-mechanical clutch assembly.

High performance subsea pressure regulator

A subsea pressure regulator includes: a spring housing; a spring disposed therein; a body having a bore formed therethrough and inlet and outlet ports; drive and balance adapters connected to opposite ends of the body; drive and balance plungers; and a supply seal assembly. Each plunger has: a piston shoulder engaged with the respective adapter, a first portion in fluid communication with an outlet chamber, and a second portion in fluid communication with ambient pressure. The supply seal assembly includes a seal carrier connected to the plungers and a seal bore formed therethrough. The spring biases the seal carrier toward an open position. The drive plunger is operable to move the seal carrier to a closed position in response to sufficient pressure in the outlet chamber overcoming the spring bias.

Freeze-tolerant valve

A valve for reducing the likelihood of ice-related blockage in a fuel cell and methods for starting a fuel cell system. The valve includes a valve plate and coupling plate that are cooperative with one another within a valve body such that flexural forces imparted to the valve plate from a pressurized fluid are transferred to localized contact surfaces between the valve plate and coupling plate. By concentrating these forces to such a localized area, improvements in the ability of the fluid to initiate and propagate a crack in built-up ice around the valve's seating region is improved. In this way, fuel cell starting in cold conditionssuch as those associated with temperatures at or below the freezing point of wateris also improved.
