PIPE JOINT

[Problem] To provide a pipe joint allowing reliable connection to a pipe P without flaring.

[Means of solving problem] The pipe joint includes a flare joint body 1F, a cap nut 2, and a stop ring 3. A curved pressure-contacting slope surface 32 of the stop ring 3 contacts a slope surface 5 with reduced-diameter tip of the flare joint body 1F under pressure to establish sealing by means of mutual contact between metallic surfaces. The pipe P is grasped in a tightly pressure-contacting state using a back tooth and a front tooth formed at a tip head 37 of a substantially cylindrical thin part 35 of the stop ring 3.

Conduit connection with sensor on a threaded body

Apparatus and method for mechanically attached connections of conduits may include a conduit gripping member, a drive member, and a seal member, the drive member causing axial movement of the conduit gripping member to indent into an outer surface of the conduit when the assembly is pulled-up, the drive member causing the seal member to form a zero clearance seal at a location that is axially spaced from the conduit gripping member. The zero clearance seal may comprise a face seal arrangement including a gasket, and the conduit gripping member may be a ferrule, ring or other device that can grip and optionally seal against the conduit outer surface. The assembly may include a sensing function for detecting or sensing a characteristic or condition of an assembly component or the fluid or both. In one embodiment, a body coupling member has a two piece construction of a main body and a conduit socket insert. A flared fitting embodiment is also provided. Sensing functions are also incorporated into fittings other than just zero clearance fittings.

A plumbing connector and method of connection including: a fitting having external threads on at least the first end; a tube having a first end inserted into the first end of the fitting; and an annular gasket, a compression ring, a lock ring, and a nut coaxial with and surrounding the outer diameter of the tube. The nut has internal threads adapted to engage the external threads of the fitting and is adapted to contain the gasket, the compression ring, and the lock ring upon threading of the nut onto the fitting. Upon threading and tightening of the nut onto the fitting, the gasket is compressed, an inner edge of the lock ring bitingly engages the outer diameter of the tube, and the gasket forms a seal with at least the first end of the fitting, the outer diameter of the tube, and an outer edge of the lock ring.

CONNECTION ARRANGEMENT FOR CONNECTING A PIPELINE

The invention relates to a connection arrangement for connecting a pipeline, in particular a metallic pipeline, the arrangement having a screw connection body having a pipe holder for the pipeline, a union nut that can be screwed onto the screw connection body, as well as a cutting ring disposed between the screw connection body and the union nut, wherein the cutting ring has an outer cone that interacts with an inner cone of the pipe holder of the screw connection body in such a manner that it is deformed radially inward in some regions when the union nut is tightened, and cuts into the material of the pipeline with at least one cutting edge, with a notching effect, with shape fit, and wherein the cutting ring has an essentially radial contact surface, subsequent to the outer cone, which surface limits tightening against a face surface of the screw connection body, and wherein an elastomer circumferential seal is disposed in a ring groove in the region of the outer cone of the cutting ring, for contact inside the inner cone of the pipe holder of the screw connection body. The ring groove (26), which accommodates the elastomer circumferential seal (5), is disposed in the outer cone (23) of the cutting ring (2), at a distance from its contact surface (24), wherein a ring surface (27) is formed between the ring groove (26) and the contact surface (24).
