CHEMICAL CONVERSION-TREATED STEEL PIPE
A chemical conversion-treated steel pipe has a chemical conversion treatment film on a plated layer on a steel sheet. The plated layer is configured from a zinc alloy comprising 0.05-60 mass % aluminum and 0.1-10.0 mass % magnesium. The chemical conversion treatment film contains a fluorine resin, a base resin, metal flakes and a chemical conversion treatment component. The base resin is one or more selected from a group consisting of polyurethane, polyester, acrylic resins, epoxy resins and polyolefin. The content of fluorine resin with respect to the total amount of fluorine resin and base resin is at least 3.0 mass % calculated as fluorine atoms. The content of the base resin with respect to 100 parts by mass of the fluorine resin is at least 10 parts by mass. The content of metal flakes in the chemical conversion treatment film is greater than 20 mass % up to and including 60 mass %.
METHOD OF LINING A TUBULAR STRUCTURE
Method of lining a tubular structure with a plastics liner pipe comprising the steps of:—temporarily reducing an outside diameter of the liner pipe by passing the liner pipe through a roller system;—cooling the liner pipe once its outside diameter has been reduced and applying a thermal restraint;—transporting the liner pipe to an installation site remote from the roller system;—removing said thermal restraint; and—installing the liner pipe in said tubular structure at said installation site.
Applicator machine
An applicator machine and a process for heating and coating a section of pipeline. The applicator machine includes a frame configured to rotate about a section of pipeline to be heated and coated, rotating means operable to rotate the frame, and coating material applicators induction coils and radiant heaters mounted on the frame and rotatable therewith. The induction coil is configured to heat a section of pipeline adjacent to the induction coil to a coating material application temperature. The radiant heaters are configured to heat factory-applied coatings. Each coating material applicator sprays coating material through an aperture in a respective induction coil. The applicator includes an enclosure configured to surround a section of pipeline and provision for evacuating and collecting waste coating material. The coating material applicator may be configured to spray powder coating material, such as fusion bonded epoxy powder material and/or chemically modified polypropylene powder material.

A composite particle includes a discrete, hollow, ceramic spheroid and a fluoropolymer layer disposed thereon. The fluoropolymer is a homopolymer or copolymer of a perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether; a perfluoroalkoxy vinyl ether; at least one fluoroolefin independently represented by formula C(R).sub.2═CF—Rf, wherein Rf is fluorine or a perfluoroalkyl having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and R is hydrogen, fluorine, or chlorine; or a combination thereof. Methods of making the composite particles, composite materials, and articles including them are also disclosed.
High temperature field joints
A method for forming a high temperature field joint between two insulated pipe sections, and an insulated conduit having a low temperature field joint. The conduit comprises a steel pipe with a corrosion protection coating and a pipe insulation layer comprising a polymer composition having thermal conductivity of less than about 0.40 W/mk, and/or heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C. After a circumferential weld joint is formed between the two pipes, a first field joint insulation layer is applied over the joint area, the first field joint insulation layer comprises a polymer composition having heat resistance to continuous operating temperatures from about 150° C. to above about 205° C.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STEEL UNDERWATER PIPE THAT IS ABLE TO CARRY A CORROSIVE FLUID
A method for producing a steel underwater pipe for carrying a corrosive fluid, includes the successive steps: applying a layer of corrosion-resistant steel alloy on a terminal part of the internal wall of each pipe element from its end to be welded; the application of a plastic coating, on the internal wall of each pipe element; covering only a first part of the layer of metal alloy, a terminal part of the layer of metal ally on the side of the end to be welded of each pipe element not being covered by the plastic coating; the coaxial insertion and the crimping of a compression ring against the terminal part of the plastic coating; and the assembly by welding directly together the ends of two pipe elements by a corrosion-resistant steel alloy weld.
PIPE WITH AN OUTER WRAP
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.
Apparatus for in-situ pipe coating and related methods
An in-situ applicator for applying a composition in a pipe comprises a flow diverter configured to receive a composition and eject the composition from at least one outlet. The applicator also comprises a hollow conical body having a narrow end, a broad end, and an interior surface configured to receive the composition ejected from the flow diverter. The conical body also has a plurality of holes forming a band that wraps circumferentially around the conical body which defines a flow region on the interior surface between the band and the narrow end. The band includes first holes adjacent to the flow region where each of the first holes has a first average diameter and second holes disposed between the first holes and the broad end, each of the second holes having an average diameter greater than the first diameter.

An assembly for supporting a mold comprising a plurality of mutually separable shell bodies for coating a pipeline section, wherein the assembly comprises motorized opening and closing of the shell bodies in a straight line. An assembly for supporting a bent pipeline section wherein the assembly comprises a base and a pair of arms extending from the base, wherein each arm comprises a respective clamping collar for clamping a bent pipe section between the arms. A vehicle for induction heating a bent pipeline section, wherein the vehicle comprises: a helical induction coil; and wheels arranged to guide movement of both ends of the induction coil through a tubular inside face of a bent pipeline section.
RE-LINED PIPE TECHNIQUE FOR WEAR MITIGATION IN SLURRY TRANSPORT PIPELINE
The present invention provides apparatus, including a pigging tool, that comprises a spraying mechanism configured to move along an inner surface of a pipeline, including a slurry transport pipeline in a minable oilsands facility or plant, and to spray a coating on the inner surface of the pipeline; and a curing source, including an ultraviolet (UV) light source, a microwave source or an RF source, configured to cure the coating sprayed on the inner surface of the pipeline in situ as the spray mechanism moves along the inner surface of the pipeline.
