A removable pipe insulation system comprising one or more components, each component comprising insulation in a waterproof covering with at least one opening for air to exit the covering during use. The insulation in the covering may be surrounded by an inside skin with a plurality of holes formed through hot micro perforation. The inside skin may be surrounded by an outside cover, which may be edged in elastic binding and which may attach to itself by hook and loop fastener. The component may be wrapped around a pipe element and secured to provide insulation to the pipe element while protecting the insulation from moisture and protecting the pipe element from corrosion under insulation.

A vapor-barrier stop pre-treated piping insulation system including an insulation segment, a vapor-barrier stop, and a sealant. The insulation segment includes a cylindrical exterior surface, a cylindrical exterior surface, a first end surface, a second end surface, at least two ledge surfaces, and a wall extending between the cylindrical exterior surface and the cylindrical interior surface. The vapor-barrier stop is applied prior to installation of the insulation segment and extends, starting from at least the first end surface, over the cylindrical interior surface, the cylindrical exterior surface, the at least two ledge surfaces, and the first end surface along the insulation segment towards the second end surface. The vapor-barrier stop is configured to impede vapor-exchange through the vapor-barrier stop.

Non-sag flexible insulation

The present invention relates to a shaped article comprising an elastomeric material, a process for making the shaped article and the use of the shaped article for forming an thermal and/or acoustic insulation, acoustic and/or vibration damping, mechanical protection and/or for applications requiring load bearing as well as a structure, such as a pipe, a pipework, a tank or a vessel, having an insulation formed from the shaped article. The shaped article has a planar form with two main sides and a plurality of tapered recesses formed in one of the main sides. The tapered recesses form each a pointed angle and the sum of the pointed angles of all tapered recesses is 300 to 355 degrees. The protrusion of the recesses into the form is more than 20% but not more than 80% of the thickness of the planar form. The shaped articles comprises an expanded and crosslinked elastomeric material, the elastomeric material comprising at least one crosslinked elastomer polymer (A) and at least one crosslinked resin (B), wherein the at least one elastomer polymer (A) and the at least one resin (B) form an interpenetrating network.

Tape for insulation jacket and method of insulating an object

A multilayer tape assembly is described which can be used with insulation jacketing and particularly for self-sealing lap (SSL) applications. The tape assembly includes two adhesive layers with associated carrier and release layers in conjunction with a differential release system. Various methods of use are also described, including a method of insulating an object.

Modular heater assemblies for use in fluid conduits

A modular heater assembly includes resistive heaters disposed along sections of a fluid conduit system, insulation members around the resistive heaters, and at least one insulation block around a fitting. The fitting is configured to join at least two adjacent sections of the fluid conduit system and defines an exterior geometric profile. The insulation block includes a central recess extending axially in a direction of one of the at least two adjacent sections and defining an internal geometric profile substantially matching the external geometric profile of the fitting, and a peripheral aperture. The peripheral aperture is open to the central recess, defines an internal geometric profile substantially matching an external geometric profile of another of the at least two adjacent sections, extends through a sidewall of the insulation block, and is axially aligned with the another of the at least two adjacent sections.

In one example, the mineral wool product can include mineral fibers bound by a binder resulting from the curing of a binder composition that includes a phenol-formaldehyde-based resin, and/or a carbohydrate containing component. Methods of inhibiting corrosion when insulating a metallic structure are also disclosed.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INSULATION OF AIRCRAFT COOLING SYSTEMS

Provided are insulating apparatuses, and methods of operation, for thermal insulation and drainage of cooling system tubing. An example insulating apparatus comprises an elongated strip including a first end and a second end. A medial portion, a first edge, and a second edge, each run from the first end to the second end. The first and second edges curl around respective longitudinal axes toward the medial portion to form a first wrap portion with a first cavity defined by an interior surface of the first wrap portion, and a second wrap portion with a second cavity defined by an interior surface of the second wrap portion. A channel above the medial portion is defined by an exterior surface of each of the first and second wrap portions. The first and second cavities are interconnected with the channel through a first gap and a second gap, respectively.
