ADA-compliant pipe-insulating sleeves
11326733 · 2022-05-10 · ·

A system of pipe insulating sleeves includes a series of elastomeric foam insulating sleeves that are capable of opening up to, and beyond, 180 degrees, to accommodate and capture an undersink pipe. The disclosed system may include a number of different sleeves that are capable of coupling to one another at respective couplers so as to form the system. The sleeves may include fastening mechanisms to retain the sleeves in the closed configuration while capturing the pipe, so as to create a smooth, streamlined appearance that is aesthetically pleasing. Also disclosed is a method of installing the sleeves. The sleeves are made of an elastomeric foam material that has heat insulating properties, and which may also have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that make it particularly advantageous for use in undersink pipe insulating.

Multiple geometry and multiple material insulated components

The present disclosure provides insulated components that include corrugated regions, which corrugated regions may reside on inner tubes, outer tubes, or both. The present disclosure also provides insulated components that may achieve straight, curved, or other variable geometries.

Pipe Support Clamp

A support clamp is provided for supporting an elongate object. The support clamp can include a clamp body that forms a cylindrical sleeve and a collar that extends radially inwardly from the cylindrical sleeve to provide an internal passageway sized to receive the elongate object. The clamp body can include first and second clamp sections that can each have, respectively, a sleeve wall that forms part of the cylindrical sleeve and a collar wall that forms part of the collar and includes an edge that extends radially between the sleeve wall and the internal passage. The edge of the first clamp section can include a channel profile, and the edge of the second clamp section can include a protruding profile. The protruding profile can be received into the channel profile to removably secure the first and second clamp sections together.

Assembly with tightly controlled axial gap for threaded connector insulation on vacuum insulated tubing

An insulated tubular assembly includes jointed insulated tubing segments, all with inner and outer tubes concentrically disposed about in order to define a vacuum annulus in between and closed at both ends by annular bridges. Insulated tubing segment are provided with either male or female threads to threadably engage and form a joint directly with each other or through a coupling jointed to adjacent insulated tubing segments. An insulating sleeve held around such joint includes a first tubular shell adapted to cover at least part of one insulated tubular segment and a second tubular shell overlapping either internally or externally part of the first tubular shell, such that the second tubular shell extends axially about the threaded joint from one annular bridge to the adjacent one, with high tolerances on lengths of the insulated tubing segment extension extending beyond their respective annular bridges.

Johnston coupling with additional vacuum enclosure

A plug-in coupling for connecting a first to a second double-walled, vacuum-insulated cryogenic line includes a coupling plug and a coupling socket. The coupling plug has an inner and an outer pipe piece and a first connecting flange and is connected to the first cryogenic line. The coupling socket has an inner and an outer pipe piece and a second connecting flange and is connected to the second cryogenic line. In an assembled state of the plug-in coupling, the coupling plug has been plugged into an open annular gap in the coupling socket. The annular gap is surrounded both at its inner circumference and at its outer circumference by an insulating vacuum, whereby the thermal insulation of the plug-in coupling is improved. This construction makes possible a shorter design of the plug-in coupling, which, while achieving good thermal insulation, is space-saving and easy to handle.
