DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING A FRICTION-COEFFICIENT-OPTIMIZING MIXTURE
A device and method for dispensing a friction-coefficient-optimizing mixture of at least one lubricant and at least one grit into the gap between a rail wheel of a rail vehicle and a rail. The device includes a reservoir for the lubricant, a reservoir for the grit, a metering unit for metering the lubricant, a metering unit for metering the grit, a delivery apparatus for delivering the lubricant, a delivery apparatus for delivering the grit, and a common dispensing nozzle. The apparatus for delivering the lubricant and the apparatus for delivering the grit are separate from each other and end in the common dispensing nozzle, the friction-coefficient-optimizing mixture therefore not being formed until the dispensing, and an additional compressed air line is provided, which ends in the common dispensing nozzle.
DELIVERING AND METERING GREASE TO PROCESS VALVES
System, apparatus, and method for delivering grease to process valve(s). The system generally includes a grease cylinder to which grease is delivered, a piston, an actuator, and a first process valve. The piston extends at least partially within the grease cylinder. The actuator strokes the piston within the grease cylinder to meter a first amount of the delivered grease to the first process valve. The actuator comprises a power cylinder within which the piston extends. The piston comprises a head portion slidably disposed in the power cylinder and dividing the power cylinder into first and second chambers. The head portion has a first cross-sectional area. The piston includes another portion contacting the grease in the grease cylinder and having a second cross-sectional area smaller than the first cross-sectional area. The actuator may also meter a second amount of the delivered grease to a second process valve.
DELIVERING AND METERING GREASE TO PROCESS VALVES
System, apparatus, and method for delivering grease to process valve(s). The system generally includes a grease cylinder to which grease is delivered, a piston, an actuator, and a first process valve. The piston extends at least partially within the grease cylinder. The actuator strokes the piston within the grease cylinder to meter a first amount of the delivered grease to the first process valve. The actuator comprises a power cylinder within which the piston extends. The piston comprises a head portion slidably disposed in the power cylinder and dividing the power cylinder into first and second chambers. The head portion has a first cross-sectional area. The piston includes another portion contacting the grease in the grease cylinder and having a second cross-sectional area smaller than the first cross-sectional area. The actuator may also meter a second amount of the delivered grease to a second process valve.
Lubricant Injector
A lubricant, injector includes an injector body having an inlet port fluidly coupleable with a lubricant supply, an outlet port fluidly coupleable with a lubrication point, a piston chamber and a valve chamber. A piston is disposed within the piston chamber and defines a measuring section and an actuating section, the piston being linearly displaceable along an axis through the piston chamber so as to inversely vary the volume of the chamber measuring section and the volume of the chamber actuating section. A valve member disposed within the valve chamber is displaceable along an axis through the valve chamber between a first position, at which the inlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber actuating and measuring sections, and a second position at which the inlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber actuating section and the outlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber measuring section.
Lubricant Injector
A lubricant, injector includes an injector body having an inlet port fluidly coupleable with a lubricant supply, an outlet port fluidly coupleable with a lubrication point, a piston chamber and a valve chamber. A piston is disposed within the piston chamber and defines a measuring section and an actuating section, the piston being linearly displaceable along an axis through the piston chamber so as to inversely vary the volume of the chamber measuring section and the volume of the chamber actuating section. A valve member disposed within the valve chamber is displaceable along an axis through the valve chamber between a first position, at which the inlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber actuating and measuring sections, and a second position at which the inlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber actuating section and the outlet port is fluidly coupled with the piston chamber measuring section.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DOSING LUBRICANT TO PRESSURIZED AIR TO BE LED TO AN AIR MOTOR
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for dosing a lubricant into compressed-air supplied to an air motor. According to the invention, the lubricant is stored in a lubricant storage space (17) from which the lubricant is led, along a lubricant line (19), to a doser (20). The doser (20) doses the lubricant into a dosing line and, therefrom, into a compressed-air line (12) extending to the air motor. The amount of lubricant contained in the storage space (17) is controlled by changing the volume of the storage space (17) by directing the pressure of the compressed-air line (12) to the lubricant storage space (17).
Lubricant Delivery Apparatus
A lubricant delivery apparatus for installation on a device that includes a moving component that is actuated by an actuating fluid from an actuating fluid source is disclosed. The apparatus includes a lubricant supply reservoir and a pump operably coupled to the reservoir for receiving a pre-determined amount of lubricant from the reservoir and for discharging the pre-determined amount of lubricant from the apparatus. The apparatus has a non-actuated state, wherein the predetermined amount of lubricant is disposed within the pump and an actuated state wherein the predetermined amount of lubricant is discharged from the pump. While the apparatus is installed on the device, the pump is operably coupled to the actuating fluid source such that actuation of the moving component is with effect that the apparatus transitions from the non-actuated state to the actuated state such that the predetermined amount of lubricant is delivered to the moving component.
Lubricant Delivery Apparatus
A lubricant delivery apparatus for installation on a device that includes a moving component that is actuated by an actuating fluid from an actuating fluid source is disclosed. The apparatus includes a lubricant supply reservoir and a pump operably coupled to the reservoir for receiving a pre-determined amount of lubricant from the reservoir and for discharging the pre-determined amount of lubricant from the apparatus. The apparatus has a non-actuated state, wherein the predetermined amount of lubricant is disposed within the pump and an actuated state wherein the predetermined amount of lubricant is discharged from the pump. While the apparatus is installed on the device, the pump is operably coupled to the actuating fluid source such that actuation of the moving component is with effect that the apparatus transitions from the non-actuated state to the actuated state such that the predetermined amount of lubricant is delivered to the moving component.
Delivering and metering grease to process valves
A system generally including a delivery module and metering modules adapted to deliver grease to process valves. The metering modules each include a grease metering device including either: a grease cylinder, a piston extending within the grease cylinder, and a first actuator; or a casing, a rotor extending within the casing, and a second actuator. The delivery module includes a grease container and a fluid transport device adapted to deliver grease from the grease container to the grease metering modules. A control unit is adapted to control: the first actuator(s) to stroke the piston(s) within the grease cylinder(s) so that respective amounts of the delivered grease are metered to the process valves; and/or the second actuator(s) to rotate the rotor(s) within the casing(s) so that the respective amounts of the delivered grease are metered to the process valves.
Delivering and metering grease to process valves
A system generally including a delivery module and metering modules adapted to deliver grease to process valves. The metering modules each include a grease metering device including either: a grease cylinder, a piston extending within the grease cylinder, and a first actuator; or a casing, a rotor extending within the casing, and a second actuator. The delivery module includes a grease container and a fluid transport device adapted to deliver grease from the grease container to the grease metering modules. A control unit is adapted to control: the first actuator(s) to stroke the piston(s) within the grease cylinder(s) so that respective amounts of the delivered grease are metered to the process valves; and/or the second actuator(s) to rotate the rotor(s) within the casing(s) so that the respective amounts of the delivered grease are metered to the process valves.
