Method and Apparatus for Identifying When an Individual is in Proximity to an Object
An apparatus for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object having a length has a sensor portion having a wire loop through which electric current runs and creates an electromagnetic field that emanates about the wire loop. The wire loop extending along at least a third of the length of the object. The apparatus has a personal alarm device that is worn by the individual which detects the presence of the magnetic field emanating from the wire loop when the personal alarm device is in the magnetic field and produces a signal indicating the personal alarm device is within the magnetic field. Alternatively, the sensor portion extends from a contiguous boundary up to 500 meters, where the boundary has a geometry that is linear or meandering. A head piece for an individual's head. A method for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object. A field extension module. A proximity device.

One embodiment of the invention disclosed herein provides techniques for assisting with performing a task within a smart workspace environment. A smart workspace system includes a memory that includes a workspace management application. The smart workspace system further includes a processor that is coupled to the memory and, upon executing the workspace management application, is configured to perform various steps. The processor detects that a first step included in a plurality of steps associated with a task is being performed. The processor displays one or more information panels associated with performing the current step. The processor further communicates with augmented safety glasses, augmented tools, and an augmented toolkit to safely and efficiently through a series of steps to complete the task.

SAFETY DEVICE
A safety device is provided to prevent danger caused by collisions between a moving part of an automatic device and a detection target, and includes a collision detection member, detecting approach or contact of the moving part and the detection target; a moving part control device, accelerating, decelerating or stopping movements of the moving part based on a detection signal from the collision detection member; a dangerous state detection member, setting a danger region where the moving part and the detection target can collide, and detecting whether the moving part or the detection target is located in the danger region; and a collision detection control device, enabling or disabling, based on the detection signal from the dangerous state detection member, the detections of the approach or contact of the moving part and the detection target by the collision detection member.
Detection systems for power tools with active injury mitigation technology
Power tools with conductive couplings used with active injury mitigation technology are disclosed. Conductive couplings are particularly relevant to table saws, hand-held circular saws, track saws, miter saws, and band saws with active injury mitigation technology. Conductive couplings provide a mechanism through which an electrical signal can be coupled or imparted to a blade, and then monitored for changes indicative of human contact with the blade. An exemplary conductive coupling includes a brush that establishes an electrical connection with a moving part of a power tool, and the brush maintains contact with the moving part of the power tool during at least 40 hours of cumulative time when the motor is spinning the arbor and blade without an interruption in the electrical connection sufficient to trigger the reaction system. A conductive coupling may be two-sided compliant. A conductive coupling may connect to a motor shaft to minimize electrical noise.
SENSOR DEVICE
Provided is a sensor device having a structure, with which the use of a simple structure enables accurate detection of a worker, etc. approaching or contacting a moving part of an automatic device. This sensor device detects the approach or contact of a detection target with a mobile moving part that is provided in an automatic device. The moving part is provided with a first sensor and second sensor for detecting the approach or contact of the detection target. The first sensor and second sensor have the same detection principle and the detection circuit of the first sensor and the detection circuit of the second sensor have the same structure.
SENSOR DEVICE
A sensor device is provided which detects approach or in contact of a detection target with a moving part of an automatic device, and comprises a first sensor that detects the detection target at a position away from the moving part, a second sensor that detects the detection target at a position closer to the moving part than the first sensor, and a third sensor that detects the detection target at a position closer to the moving part than the first sensor. The approach of the detection target to the moving part is detected by both the second sensor and the third sensor at a position closer to the moving part than a position that can be detected by the first sensor.
