Boil-off gas re-liquefying system
A system for reliquefying a boil off gas generated in a storage tank includes a first compressor compressing a partial amount (hereinafter, referred to as ‘fluid a’) of boil off gas discharged from the storage tank, a second compressor compressing another partial amount (hereinafter, referred to as ‘fluid b’) of boil off gas discharged from the storage tank, a second expanding unit expanding a partial amount (hereinafter, referred to as ‘fluid c’) of a flow formed as the fluid a and the fluid b join, a heat-exchanger cooling another partial amount (hereinafter, referred to as ‘fluid d’) of the flow formed as the fluid a and the fluid b join, and a first expanding unit expanding the fluid d cooled by the heat-exchanger, wherein the heat-exchanger heat-exchanges the fluid d with the fluid c as a coolant expanded by the second expanding unit to cool the fluid d.
Natural gas filling system for a vehicle
A natural gas filling system for a vehicle includes a piping system defining a first flow path, a receptacle, a tank, and a cooling circuit. The piping system includes a first end and a second end. The receptacle is coupled to the first end of the piping system, and the receptacle is configured to engage a natural gas filling station. The tank is in fluid communication with the receptacle and is configured to store a natural gas supply. The cooling circuit defines a second flow path and includes an expansion valve configured to reduce a pressure of a secondary fluid flow. The second flow path is in thermal communication with the first flow path such that heat transfer from the piping system into the cooling circuit cools the natural gas flowing between the receptacle and the tank.
Cooling System for Cryogenic Fuel Delivery Components
A method for precooling fuel delivery components of a machine having an engine fueled by a cryogenically-stored fuel is described. The fuel delivery components may be configured to operate at an operating temperature at or below a boiling point of the cryogenically-stored fuel. The method may comprise, in a vapor precooling mode, cooling the fuel delivery components to a temperature approaching the operating temperature with a vapor of the fuel taken from a reservoir cryogenically storing the fuel. The method may further comprise, in a liquid precooling mode, further cooling the fuel delivery components to the operating temperature with a liquid of the fuel taken from the reservoir.
Method and system for storage and transport of liquefied petroleum gases
A method for storage and transport of LPG on LPG carriers, in particular two cargoes of different LPG types on same shipment, having reliquefaction units in which vaporized gases are condensed and then returned into at least one cargo tank for the respective LPG cargo type. The method is further comprising: using the reliquefaction units, at a minimum one running, as to condense vapour from the first cargo type; passing the condensed vapour through a heat exchanger; simultaneously flowing vapour from the second cargo type through the heat exchanger as to condense vapour by means of heat exchanging with the condensed vapour; and returning the condensed vapours leaving the heat exchanger back into the respective cargo types. The present invention is also disclosing a system for storage and transport of LPG on LPG carriers.
SYSTEM FOR COOLING AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT OF A MACHINE
A system for cooling at least one electrical component of a machine. The machine is powered by a liquefied natural gas (LNG). The system includes at least one blower and at least one heat exchanger. The at least one blower is arranged to direct an air flow towards the at least one electrical component. The at least one heat exchanger is arranged upstream of the at least one electrical component. The at least one heat exchanger is using LNG as the coolant for cooling the air flow being directed towards the at least one electrical component.
CRYOGENIC FLUID DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH HEAT MANAGEMENT
A cryogenic fluid dispensing system having a tank that holds cryogenic liquid and manages heat within the system is disclosed. The cryogenic liquid dispensing system optionally includes a basin and/or a heat exchanger within the tank for managing heat within the system.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING AN OPTIMAL VALUE OF AT LEAST ONE PARAMETER FOR IMPLEMENTING A METHOD FOR COOLING A WATERTIGHT AND THERMALLY INSULATING TANK
A method of determining an optimum value of at least one first parameter of execution of a process for cooling an internal space of a tank, including testing a plurality of different values of the first parameter, each phase of testing one of the values of the first parameter including cooling the internal space of the tank, the cooling power P.sub.f or the setpoint final temperature T.sub.c being representative of the tested value of the first parameter. The steps include loading liquefied gas into the internal space of the tank after cooling, measuring a variable P1 representative of the pressure inside the thermal insulation barrier and comparing it to at least one particular threshold, and detecting a fault if the variable P1 crosses the at least one particular threshold, and choosing, among the plurality of values tested, the optimum value of the first parameter during the corresponding test phase.
COMBINED HYDROGEN STORAGE - COMPRESSION SYSTEM FOR THE FILLING OF HIGH PRESSURE HYDROGEN TANKS
The present relates to a combined hydrogen storage-compression unit suitable for the filling of high-pressure (350 bar and beyond) hydrogen vessels. It includes a containment vessel filled with a hydrogen storage alloy, a heating system, a cooling system and a thermal management system. The same shall be connected directly to the hydrogen supply (e.g. an electrolyser) on one side and to the end consumer on the other side. Moreover, it offers the possibility for intermediate storage of at least one time the maximal quantity of hydrogen that is to be supplied at high pressure in a single step.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRE-COOLING FUEL DISPENSER
A system for dispensing a gaseous fuel from a liquefied fuel and a method for operating such a system are provided. The system includes a storage tank, a pressure sensor, a dispenser, a temperature sensor, and a vapor supply unit. The storage tank stores a liquefied fuel including phases of liquid and vapor. The pressure sensor is configured to measure a vapor pressure inside the storage tank. The dispenser is configured to receive the liquefied fuel and dispense the gaseous fuel to a receiving tank. The temperature sensor is configured to measure temperature of the dispenser. The system further includes a vapor supply unit fluidly coupled with the storage tank and configured to provide the vapor of the liquefied fuel from the storage tank into the dispenser or in thermally contact with at least one portion of the dispenser.
Station and method for refilling pressurized gas tanks
A station and method for refilling a tank or tanks with pressurized gas in which liquefied gas is vaporized in a vaporizer. One portion of the vaporized gas is compressed to produce a compressed gas. Another portion of the vaporized gas is not compressed but instead is fed to a heat exchanger where it is used to cool the compressed gas. The thus-warmed gas is reinjected into a filling line that feeds the liquefied gas to the vaporizer.
