LUMINAIRE FOR INDUCTIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM
A luminaire for an inductive power transfer lighting system includes a luminaire body having a base and a hinged lid. A seal has a first sealing surface mounted in the base and a second sealing surface mounted in the lid. The first sealing surface includes a first power cable receiving channel running from one side of the base to an opposite side. The second sealing surface includes a corresponding second power cable receiving channel. When clamped together by clamping means the lid and base are sealed together and the power cable receiving channels co-operate to form a bore for holding a power cable. At least one of the sealing surfaces includes at least one groove transverse to the direction of the bore.
Lighting system
A lighting system that can be mounted to a structure and provides light in multiple direction, such as both the upward and downward directions. The lighting system can include at least one casing, a plate, a housing, at least one first light source and at least one second light source. The plate can have at least one aperture sized to accept a casing and the housing can have at least one aperture aligned with the aperture of the plate when the plate is arranged on the housing. The first light source can be positioned below the plate and configured to emit light upward and illuminates the casing and the second light source can be arranged within the housing and configured to emit light in a downward direction.
Solid State Bidirectional Light Sheet Having Vertical Orientation
A solid state, bidirectional light sheet and method of fabricating the sheet are disclosed. In one embodiment, bare LED chips have top and bottom electrodes, where the bottom electrode is a large reflective electrode. An array of LEDs (e.g., 500 LEDs) is sandwiched between at least two transparent substrates having conductors bonded to the electrodes without wires. Various ways to connect the LEDs in series are described along with various embodiments. The light sheets are formed to emit light from opposite surfaces of the light sheet to create a bidirectional light sheet. The light sheet may be suspended from a ceiling to be perpendicular to the ceiling, or the angles of the light sheet may be adjusted. The suspended light sheet may form a cylinder for uniform illumination of the floor and ceiling. Lenses may be formed in the light sheet to emit light at any peak intensity angle to achieve any light emission pattern.
HANGING LIGHT
A portable lighting device includes a body including a base, a cover movably coupled to the base, and an annular rim supported by the cover. The annular rim defines an opening. The portable lighting device also includes a lighting unit supported by the body. The lighting unit includes a light emitting diode. The portable lighting device further includes a lens coupled to the base of the body. The lens has a lower portion opposite from the body. The lower portion has a similar shape and size as the opening defined by the annular rim. The lower portion configured to be received by a body of another portable lighting device.

Hanging light
A portable lighting device includes a body, a lighting unit supported by the body, and a terminal block supported by the body. The terminal block is configured to connect to a power source and provide electrical energy to the lighting unit to illuminate a light emitting diode. The portable lighting device also includes a hanging cable configured to hang the body from a support structure. The hanging cable has a first end secured to the body and a second end portion opposite the first end. The portable lighting device further includes a cable clamp mechanism supported by the body. The cable clamp mechanism engages the second end portion of the hanging cable to allow adjustment of a length of the hanging cable between the first end and the cable clamp mechanism.
