A headlight unit includes a housing, a micro-LED device mounted in the housing, a relay lens system mounted in the housing forward of the micro-LED device, and a projection lens system mounted in the housing forward of the relay lens system. The micro-LED device has a plurality of forward-facing micro-LEDs, wherein first, second and third subsets of the micro-LEDs are arranged in respective first, second and third 2D arrays. The relay lens system includes first, second and third relay lenses configured to receive and relay respective first, second and third streams of light emitted by the first, second and third subsets of micro-LEDs. The projection lens system includes first, second and third projection lenses configured to receive and project the first, second and third streams of light in respective first, second and third projection patterns.

The lamp for an automobile includes a micro lens array (MLA) module which is provided in front of a light source and into which light is incident. The MLA module includes a light-incident lens array and a light-emitting lens array. At least a portion of optical axes of a plurality of light-incident lenses provided in a first section of the light-incident lens array is aligned with one of optical axes of a plurality of light-emitting lenses provided in an A section of the light-emitting lens array. At least a portion of optical axes of a plurality of light-incident lenses provided in a second section of the light-incident lens array is misaligned with all of the optical axes of a plurality of light-emitting lenses provided in a B section of the light-emitting lens array.

The invention relates to a light module for a motor vehicle headlamp, comprising: at least one light source (1) and at least one projection device (2), the projection device (2) having an entry optical unit (21) and an exit optical unit (22), the entry optical unit (21) being designed to form an intermediate image from light emitted by the at least one light source (1) in an intermediate image plane, which lies between the entry optical unit (21) and the exit optical unit (22) and is substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the projection device (2), and the exit optical unit (22) being designed to image the intermediate image into a region in front of the light module in the form of a light distribution of a first predefined type, at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) being provided, which at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) is designed to emit light between the entry optical unit (21) and the exit optical unit (22); the exit optical unit (22) being designed to image the light emitted by the at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) into the region in front of the light module in the form of a light distribution of a second predefined type; the entry optical unit (21) and the at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) being designed in such a way and being associated with each other in such a way that neither the at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) nor the light emitted by the at least one additional light source (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) changes the intermediate image.

The vehicular lamp includes a projection lens that projects light emitted from a first light source to form the light distribution pattern for passing and projects light emitted from a second light source to form the light distribution pattern for traveling. A lower lens part and an upper lens part are set in the projection lens about a lens axis as a center, a lower focus is set on the lens axis in the lower lens part, and an upper focus shorter in focal length than the lower focus is set on the lens axis in the upper lens part.

SOLID STATE BEAMFORMING HEADLAMPS
A vehicle lamp including a plurality of solid state light emitters and mircrolenses or microprisms optically connected to the light emitters. A base layer is configured to be adhered to a vehicle component (e.g., body) and support the solid state light emitters and the microprism layer. The microprism layer is optically connected to the matrix of solid state light emitters. A plurality of light direction controlling structures in the microprism layer can each control the direction of the light emitted from the solid state emitters and/or their lumen output levels from the lamp. Controller circuitry is provided to control solid state light emitters and/or the controllable elements of microprism layer.
