Vehicular lamp
11168858 · 2021-11-09 · ·

A vehicular lamp includes a first light source that emits light forming a passing light distribution pattern; a second light source that is disposed forward of the first light source and emits light forming a traveling light distribution pattern; a reflector that reflects the light from the first and the second light sources; a first lens that projects the light reflected forward by the reflector; and a second lens that transmits the light from the second light source toward the reflector. The second light source and the first light source are disposed on the same plane. The reflector has first and second reflective surfaces. The first reflective surface reflects the light from the first light source to the first lens. The second reflective surface is disposed forward of the first reflective surface and reflects the light from the second light source through the second lens to the first lens.

Elastic retroreflector
11215740 · 2022-01-04 ·

A retroreflector includes an arrangement of triples, each having three side surfaces, which are disposed in the manner of a cube corner and stand approximately perpendicular on one another. The retroreflector can be produced from a carrier material by injection molding. An optical silicone resin is used as the carrier material. The retroreflector is based on triple mirrors that are both easily unmolded from a die and easily applied to curved surfaces even after unmolding or are usable for reflection of ultraviolet light.

Optical Device for Motor Vehicle Headlight
20230313960 · 2023-10-05 ·

An optical device for a motor vehicle headlight for producing continuously closed light distribution. The optical device includes: light sources; collimators which are respectively associated with a light source; and a light guiding body, which has a light shaping structure and is formed from a plurality of interconnected facets. The facets respectively have an inclination to the main emission direction, wherein the spatial vector of a facet forms a horizontal and a vertical angle of inclination to the main emission direction. The inclinations of all facets are distributed such that the horizontal angles of inclination are respectively distributed around an expected value that corresponds to the maximum luminous intensity of the light distribution such that light that enters or leaves the light guiding body via facets that have horizontal and vertical angles of inclination corresponding to the expected value forms the maximum luminous intensity of the light distribution. The light shaping structure forms the light entry side and/or the light exit side of the light guiding body, wherein the facets are distributed substantially homogeneously on the light entry and/or exit sides in relation to their respective inclinations.

Headlamp unit based on a polarized beam splitter and at least two light path systems
11746979 · 2023-09-05 · ·

A headlamp unit based on a PBS includes a lens and a beam splitter. Viewed from a reverse light path, parallel light is refracted twice by an incident surface and an emergent surface of the lens and then converged in at least two focuses through the beam splitter. Each focus corresponds to a light path system, and the light path systems may be turned on simultaneously or separately to obtain a corresponding headlamp light pattern. Through beam combination of the PBS, two optical systems may achieve different illumination light shapes through on-off combination of light sources, and the two optical systems do not interfere with each other. The PBS obtains at least two accurate focus positions for the focuses of the lens, and an ideal light pattern may be accurately obtained. An upper beam light pattern may partially cover a lower beam light pattern.

LIGHTING MODULE FOR A VEHICLE HEADLAMP
20230280012 · 2023-09-07 · ·

A lighting module includes a first light source that generates a low beam with a bright/dark cut-off line and a second light source. First optics redirects a first part of light from the first light source to create a main part of the low beam substantially below the bright/dark cut-off line. Second optics is spaced apart from the first optics and redirects a second part of light from the first light source to create a zone III beam of the low beam substantially above the bright/dark cut-off line and redirects a fourth part of light from the second light source to create a concentrated beam of the high beam in front of the vehicle. Third optics redirects a third part of light from the second light source to create a main part of a high beam.
