A vehicle lamp includes a projection lens, and a light source disposed behind the projection lens. The vehicle lamp is configured to form a required light distribution pattern by irradiating light emitted from the light source forward through the projection lens. A movable lens configured to be movable in a required direction intersecting with an optical axis of the projection lens is disposed between the projection lens and the light source. A maximum luminous intensity position of the light distribution pattern is changed by moving the movable lens in the required direction.

Headlight device

A vehicle headlight device attached to a part of a vehicle and configured to apply illumination light to a road surface on which the vehicle runs comprises: a light source device configured to Generate the illumination light; an optical unit disposed on a light axis of the light source device and configured to project the illumination light from the light source device so as to form a desired light distribution; and a polarization direction conversion device disposed in a part of a light path between the light source device and the optical unit and being able to control the illumination light from the light source device with inclusion of conversion of a polarization direction thereof for each irradiation region in accordance with a state of a position irradiated with the illumination light on the road surface.

VEHICLE LIGHT ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A MOVABLE LIGHT SIGNATURE MEMBER
20200173622 · 2020-06-04 ·

A vehicle light assembly including one or more movable light signature members that are selectively translated from a first position partially or wholly in front of conventional light units (low beams, high beams, taillights, etc.) to a second position away from the light units when the light units are in use. Thus, for example, the movable light signature member(s) can include one or more LEDs or the like that are illuminated to act as daytime running lights, turn signal indicators, accessory lights, etc. when they are disposed in front of the light units and when the low beams, high beams, or taillights are not in use. This provides the desired light signature. When the low beams, high beams, or taillights are in use, the movable light signature member(s) are translated out of the way, such that the light units are visible adjacent to and/or between the movable light signature member(s).

Multi-mode lights

A system may have lights. A light may include a first light source and a first reflector configured to provide lighting for a high-beam mode and for a low-beam mode. The light may include a second light source and a second reflector configured to provide lighting for a cornering light mode. The lighting provided by the first light source and the lighting provided by the second light source may pass through the same headlight lens aperture. A light blocking structure may provide a cutoff pattern that define the illumination pattern of the low-beam lighting and the cornering lighting. One or more additional light sources may be provided to boost the intensity of a hot spot for high-beam lighting.
