A lighting device includes lens which delimits the inner region of the lighting device and is configured so that light exits outwards from the inner region. The lighting device includes one or more light sources in the inner region to emit a first light radiation in a first wavelength range, the lens being non-transparent to the first light radiation. The inner region also includes one or more elements, each of which contains a photoluminescent phosphor, the element(s) being arranged to be illuminated by the first light radiation. The photoluminescent phosphor is configured to emit a second light radiation in a second wavelength range, based on the first light radiation illuminating the element(s), the second light radiation at least partly exiting through the lens which is transparent to at least a part of the second light radiation.

A lighting device disclosed in an embodiment of the invention includes a substrate; a light source including a plurality of light emitting devices disposed on the substrate; a resin layer disposed on the substrate; and a first diffusion layer disposed on the resin layer, wherein the resin layer includes a first resin portion disposed on the light source, and a second resin portion adjacent to the first resin portion and disposed on the substrate. The upper surface of the first resin portion has an inclination and is spaced apart from the first diffusion layer, the second resin portion includes a material different from that of the first resin portion, and the second resin portion based on the upper surface of the substrate. The height of the upper surface may be greater than the lowermost height of the upper surface of the first resin portion.

Tailgate illumination

A vehicle tailgate includes a substrate operable between open and closed positions and defining an inboard surface, an outboard surface and a top surface. A light assembly is positioned on the substrate. A first lens is positioned over the inboard surface and the top surface. A second lens is positioned over the top surface and the outboard surface. A plurality of light sources is positioned between the substrate and the first and second lenses.

Vehicle light system

A light system for a vehicle is provided herein. The light system includes first and second light sources. A lens is configured to create a first illumination pattern when the first light source is activated and a second illumination pattern when the second light source is activated. A third light source is configured to create a third illumination pattern that extends vehicle outward of the first and second illumination patterns. A controller is configured to activate the first light source when a front door of the vehicle is opened and activate the second light source when a rear door of the vehicle is opened.

DEVICE FOR INDICATING A TURN SIGNAL ON A MOTOR VEHICLE WINDOW

A device for indicating lock status of a motor vehicle door includes a door lock status indicator carried on a window of the motor vehicle door. A device for indicating a turn signal of a motor vehicle includes a turn signal indicator carried on a window of the motor vehicle. These devices may be combined into a single lighting module.

LIGHTING MODULE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

A lighting module for a motor vehicle includes a carrier, such as a single printed circuit board, and a plurality of light sources configured to perform various functions selected from a group including door lock status, turn signal indication, blind spot warning indication and door latch handle illumination.

DEVICE FOR INDICATING LOCK STATUS OF A MOTOR VEHICLE DOOR

A device for indicating lock status of a motor vehicle door includes a door lock status indicator carried on a window of the motor vehicle door. A window for a motor vehicle includes a luminescent door lock status indicator, a luminescent turn signal indicator and a luminescent blind spot indicator.

FUEL PORT ILLUMINATION DEVICE

An indicator disposed proximate a fuel port of the vehicle is disclosed. The indicator comprises a persistent luminescent layer, a first light source, and one or more circuits. The persistent luminescent layer is configured to emit a first color of light. The first light source is configured to emit a charging emission to charge the persistent luminescent layer. The one or more circuits are configured to selectively activate one or more portions of the first light source such that the persistent luminescent layer is charged and illuminates the indicator in the first color.

Light system

A window for a vehicle is provided herein. The window includes an outer panel separated from an inner panel. A light guide is disposed between the outer panel and the inner panel. A first light-blocking layer is disposed between the light guide and the outer panel. A second light-blocking layer is disposed between the light guide and the inner panel. A light source is optically coupled with the light guide and is configured to direct excitation light towards a photoluminescent structure disposed between the first and second light-blocking layers. The photoluminescent structure luminesces in response to receiving the excitation light.
