Lighting device with a viewing hole
A handheld lighting device with a viewing mechanism to inspect a subject through an opening consists of a head portion, a lighting source, a handle, a power source, and a peep hole. To mimic a flashlight, the head portion is terminally connected to the handle. The lighting source is positioned within the head portion. The power source is positioned within the handle and is electrically connected to the lighting source. The peep hole traverses through the handle and the head portion. The lighting source and the power source are configured to be positioned around the peep hole. Thus, the user can utilize the peep hole to observe a viewing area illuminated by the lighting source. To maximize the range of the lighting source, a reflector is positioned within the head portion.
LED flashlight
A lighting device with improved optical performance and efficiency is provided. The lighting device includes a source of energy, a light source, a reflector and a holder. The reflector has a first open end, a second end, and a parabolic profile extending between the first open end and second end. The focus of the parabolic profile is located outside of the profile. The reflector may also be movable relative to the light source. The lighting device may include a circuit that delivers a pulsed or thermally compensated pulsed current to the light source. The light device may also include a heat sink housing.
Luminaire
Luminaire with channels K.sub.n, each have a light source and a collimator. Each channel produces a light cone having different opening angles. The channels form a sequence (K.sub.n).sub.n?1, . . . ,N, the light cones having progressively greater or smaller opening angles ?.sub.n. The intensity l.sub.n(x) of the channels, controlled by a manipulated variable x by an actuator, are dependent on the manipulated variable and each follow a curve having a maximum and a rising edge and/or a falling edge. The curves of adjacent channels K.sub.n?1, K.sub.n, K.sub.n+1 are shifted in relation to one another such that a reduction in the intensity of a channel, controlled by the actuator, is associated with an increase in the intensity of an adjacent channel K.sub.n?1 and an increase in intensity of a channel, controlled by the actuator, is associated with a reduction in intensity of an adjacent channel K.sub.n?1.

OPTICAL DIFFUSER FOR A PORTABLE LIGHT
An optical diffuser for a light may comprise an optical body having a substantially flat base at one end thereof and a complex lens structure at the opposing end thereof. The complex lens may have a plurality of curved optical surfaces and may produce a beam of light having a non-uniform light intensity. The optical diffuser may be attached to a light by a holder, and the holder may be movable on the light to place the optical diffuser in front of alight source.
ILLUMINATION DEVICE
An illumination device is provided with an optoelectronic light source and an optical body. The optical body is divided into an inner lens part and an outer reflector part adjoining thereon outward in relation to directions perpendicular to a main direction, which body parts are formed monolithically with one another. The inner part is formed as a Fresnel lens with active flanks which acts as a collimating lens, so that a first part of the light which passes through the Fresnel lens via the active flanks is refracted toward the main direction. A second part of the light which passes through the Fresnel lens via folding flanks is refracted away from the main direction. A reflection surface is provided on the outer reflector part, on which the second part of the light is incident and is reflected thereon and deflected with the reflection toward the main direction.
Portable light and optical diffuser therefor
An optical diffuser for a light may comprise an optical body having a substantially flat base at one end thereof and a complex lens structure at the opposing end thereof. The complex lens may have a plurality of curved optical surfaces and may produce a beam of light having a non-uniform light intensity. The optical diffuser may be attached to a light by a holder, and the holder may be movable on the light to place the optical diffuser in front of alight source.
LED Illumination Module With Fixed Optic and Variable Emission Pattern
An LED illumination module including an LED lamp with a plurality of light emitting dies on a substrate in combination with an optic having a single focus. The light emitting dies include a single center light emitting die centered on an optical axis and peripheral dies arranged around the center die. The illumination module includes a beam forming optic having a single focus arranged over the LED lamp with the focus on the optical axis of the center die. Light emitted from the center die is substantially collimated by the optic in a focused spot emission pattern. Light emitted from the peripheral dies results in a more dispersed or divergent flood emission pattern. The center die and peripheral dies are independently controlled and the power delivered to the dies can be varied independently to generate different light emission patterns using the same optic.
Combined Flashlight and Lantern
A combined flashlight and lantern can have a light powered by a metal-air fuel cell that runs, or is activated, by water or an electrolyte such as salt water. The combined flashlight and lantern has both flashlight and lantern configurations. In the flashlight configuration, a head with a distal concave reflector is disposed towards a handle with the light in an aperture of the distal concave reflector to direct light axially. The distal concave reflector is opaque to resist light from emitting laterally therefrom. In the lantern configuration, the head with a distal convex reflector is disposed away from the handle and opposing a proximal convex reflector to direct light radially.
Lighting device construction
A portable lighting device adapted to provide an area light, said device including a body having a battery housing to hold batteries to power said device. The device includes a light panel functioning as a lens to act as an area light emitter, characterized in the said light panel is slidable into and out of said body, said light panel being constructed of a substantially flat panel portion.
