LUMINAIRES WITH MULTIPLE ILLUMINATION PANELS

In one embodiment, a design system based on luminaires having multiple illumination panels includes first and second luminaires. Each of the first luminaires includes three illumination panels arranged in a row. Each of the second luminaires includes five illumination panels of the same size and shape, arranged in an L-shape, with a first, a second and a third panel arranged in a first row, and the third, a fourth and a fifth panel arranged in a second row at a ninety degree angle to the first row. In another embodiment, a design system based on luminaires having multiple illumination panels includes first and second luminaires. Each of the first luminaires includes three illumination panels arranged in a row. Each of the second luminaires includes nine illumination panels of the same size and shape, arranged in a grid of three rows and three columns.

ADJUSTMENT ASSEMBLY FOR A LIGHTING DEVICE

A lighting fixture having an adjustable collar for accommodating different ceiling thicknesses is provided. The lighting fixture preferably includes a light module, a plaster frame, first and second support arms extending from the plaster frame, a U-shaped support assembly, an adjustment assembly for coupling the support assembly to the first and second support arms, and the collar. The adjustment assembly enabling the support assembly and the adjustable collar to be selectively movable along an axis perpendicular to the plaster frame. The adjustment assembly being configured so that, in a first configuration, the support assembly along with the light module and the collar are movable along the axis, and in a second configuration, the support assembly along with the light module and the collar are fixed to the first and second support arms so that a bottom end of the collar extends beyond a bottom surface of the plaster frame.

BAR HANGER WITH SUBSTANTIALLY IDENTICAL MEMBERS FOR RECESSED LUMINAIRES

A bar hanger member is provided. The bar hanger member is for assembling with another like-member by superposition thereon to form a bar hanger for supporting recessed luminaires. The bar hanger member includes: an elongated body having a front face and a rear face; a channel extending through the body along the lengthwise axis; and first and second protrusions extending from the body aligned with the channel. The first and second protrusions are sized and shaped for slidable engagement with the channel of the like-member. When the bar hanger is assembled with the like-member, the second protrusion of the bar hanger engages in the channel of the like-member and the first protrusion of the like-member engages in the channel of the bar hanger member.

HUB FOR LIGHTING AT GRID INTERSECTION

A hub for lighting at a grid intersection. The hub includes a light enclosure, light fixture, yoke, clip adapter, and beams. The enclosure includes connected walls each having a central offset portion with a connecting slot and multiple fixture slots. The yoke includes a middle section, two side sections, and two connector sections having protrusions. The yoke is attached to the enclosure by passing the connector sections through the connecting slots in opposite walls of the enclosure. Clips are inserted into the connecting slots that do not contain the yoke. The clips include arms extended therefrom and have protrusions. Beams with end adapters having holes are then connected to the enclosure by engaging the protrusions on the yoke and clips with the holes on the clip adapters. A light fixture can then be attached with fasteners passing through the fixture and slots in the fixture. Optionally a driver can be attached to the fixture.

A junction box having a cavity to contain electrical wires that provide a connection to a building mains voltage from an electrical system of a building is coupled to a plurality of telescoping hanger bars to hold the junction box in a wall or ceiling in the building. Each telescoping hanger bar is extendible and/or retractable to vary a length of the hanger bar. A position of the junction box is adjustable along the length of each telescoping hanger bar. In one example, the apparatus does not include a can, separate from the junction box, to contain a lighting device of a recessed lighting assembly.

LIGHT EMITTING DIODE RECESSED LIGHT FIXTURE

A recessed light fixture includes an LED module, which includes a single LED package that is configured to generate all light emitted by the recessed light fixture. For example, the LED package can include multiple LEDs mounted to a common substrate. The LED package can be coupled to a heat sink for dissipating heat from the LEDs. The heat sink can include a core member from which fins extend. Each fin can include one or more straight and/or curved portions. A reflector housing may be coupled to the heat sink and configured to receive a reflector. The reflector can have any geometry, such as a bell-shaped geometry including two radii of curvature that join together at an inflection point. An optic coupler can be coupled to the reflector housing and configured to cover electrical connections at the substrate and to guide light emitted by the LED package.
