Automatical in situ control of the confined environment of metabolically active produce
A control system for controlling the storage of metabolically active produce in a defined confined environment. The control system comprises gas analyzing and pressure measurement means including a control unit for determining an adjusted gas medium composition of the confined environment for protecting the produce against metabolic degradation. An operating/actuating means for adapting the gas medium in the confined storage environment is based on the determined adjusted gas medium composition. The control unit is adapted for determining the adjusted gas medium composition based on a mathematical model of the system that determines a metabolic coefficient of the produce by combining measured changes of gas composition in the confined environment with dynamic pressure changes in the confined space. The value of the metabolic coefficient is used as input for a control algorithm to continuously adjust the gas composition in the confined space in response to the metabolic activity of the produce.
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE CONTROL SYSTEM
A pressure control system for a CA room including a bladder and an active displacement control that are operable to control the internal pressure of the CA room through variations in displacement. The system may include a controller configured to vary the displacement of the bladder based on the difference between barometric pressure and CA room internal pressure. The system may control bladder displacement based on the output of a differential pressure sensor that measures the pressure differential between the CA room and barometric pressure, or the output of separate internal and external sensors that separately measure CA room pressure and barometric pressure. The bladder may be an inflatable bladder and the active displacement control may inflate and deflate the bladder to vary its displacement within the CA room. The active displacement control may include an active air supply with a blower that can quickly inflate and deflate the bladder.

Air composition adjusting device
An air composition adjusting device includes: an oxygen separator that separates oxygen from external air to be supplied to a target space; a gas supply path including a high concentration gas supply path for oxygen through which the oxygen separator communicates with the target space; and a controller that performs an oxygen concentration raising operation of supplying a high oxygen concentration gas, which has a higher oxygen concentration than external air before being treated by the oxygen separator, to the target space through the high concentration gas supply path for oxygen.
ANTIMICROBIAL COVER
This invention relates to an antimicrobial cover comprising or consisting of an antimicrobial agent-generating article for use with a container for transporting or storage of fruit and a container comprising the antimicrobial of the invention. The invention further relates to a method of preventing or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, particularly fungal organisms, in packaged fruit comprising the use of the antimicrobial of the invention.
LIDS FOR MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING CARTONS
A modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) lid (100) is provided. The lid includes a base (102); a sachet receiving surface (106) having a plurality of holes (110); and a raised perimeter wall (108) enclosing and defining the sachet receiving surface, wherein the sachet receiving surface lies level with or above the base. Also provided is a MAP container (150) including a MAP lid described herein, a dry chemical sachet (170) for placement on the sachet receiving surface; an adhesive patch (180) for sealing onto the raised perimeter wall to retain the dry chemical sachet on the sachet receiving surface; and a MAP carton.
Counter-Top Produce Storage Chamber
A produce storage chamber designed to fit on a counter top. The produce storage chamber capable of encasing produce, a refrigeration system, at least one ozone generation unit, and at least one ethylene scrubber. The chamber is capable of delaying postharvest produce deterioration using temperature control, ozone generation, and ethylene scrubbing.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS RELATED TO A PACK AND AN OXIDIZING GAS GENERATOR
Systems and methods for detecting presence of a thing, the thing treated with a descenter, one method including in an area in which it is possible that a thing treated with a descenter is present, using a detector to detect a descenter level in the area, producing a detected descenter level, comparing the detected descenter level to a normal descenter level for the area, determining that the detected descenter level is different from the normal descenter level, said determining indicating the possible presence of a thing treated with a descenter; and using a trained service animal to facilitate such a method.
Method for preserving produce
A method, comprising steps: (a) placing a plurality of produce in an airtight chamber having a quantity of air and a first pressure, wherein the plurality of produce comprises water; (b) removing the quantity of air via a first vacuum pump to reduce the first pressure in the airtight chamber providing a vacuum cooling effect, wherein the water evaporates until the plurality of produce reaches a predetermined temperature; (c) packaging each individual produce of the plurality of produce in a container, wherein the container has a second pressure; (d) reducing the second pressure via a second vacuum pump; and (e) injecting a nitrogen gas inside the container until the container reaches a third pressure.
