Air circulation system and method
A cooking appliance is disclosed including a burner assembly that effectively and efficiently combusts fuel and directs the resulting smoke from a burn pot of the burner assembly to a cook chamber of a cooking appliance. The burner assembly may include a series of openings and curved faces that provide airflow to push smoke from the burn pot to the cook chamber and provide more turbulence and better heat and smoke circulation in the smoker. The burn pot may define one or more vents and include a one or more curved or shrouded surfaces. The burner assembly may include one or more deflector plates configured to direct the flow of smoke from the burn pot to the cook chamber.
Heat and flame control
A heat and flame control assembly for a grill or other cooking appliance. The heat and flame control assembly includes a main heat plate and a slider plate disposed above the main heat plate. The main heat plate includes openings that allow direct heat to be provided to the food. The slider plate is movable with respect to the main heat plate, and also includes opening. When direct heat is desired, the slider plate is movable to align the openings in the slider plate with the openings of the main heat plate. However, when indirect heat is desired, the slider plate is movable to cover the openings of the main heat plate.
THERMALLY POWERED FAN ASSEMBLY
A thermally powered fan assembly for blowing heated air from a fireplace includes a screen that is positionable in front of a fireplace. A blower is coupled to the screen and the blower urging air through the screen when the blower is turned on. In this way the blower urges heated air outwardly from the fireplace to enhance heating an area. A thermoelectric power supply is coupled to the screen wherein the thermoelectric power and the thermoelectric power supply produces an electrical current when the thermoelectric power supply is exposed to a thermal gradient. It this way the thermoelectric power supply converts heat from the fireplace into electrical current. The blower is electrically coupled to the thermoelectric power supply.

Monitoring opacity of smoke exhausted by wood stove and controlling wood stove based on same
A wood stove monitoring and control device can include a mounting flange mountable to a chimney exhaust pipe of a wood stove. The device can include a ring removably mountable on top of the mounting flange, where the flange is suitably positioned vertically along the exhaust pipe so that the ring is positioned at least partially above an end of the exhaust pipe. The device includes an optical beam source disposed on the ring, and which generates and outputs an optical beam. The device includes an optical sensor positioned on the ring opposite the optical beam source to detect the optical beam output by the optical beam source as the optical beam passes through smoke exhausted by the wood stove through the exhaust pipe. The device can include a temperature probe disposed on the ring to measure a temperature of heat exhausted by the wood stove through the exhaust pipe.
GAS SEDIMENT TRAP ASSEMBLY
A gas sediment trap assembly includes a generally cylindrical length with a generally perpendicular tee and a vertically oriented capped portion. The gas sediment trap assembly is coupled to the gas supply line and the gas fired appliance. One or more gas ball valves can be coupled to the gas sediment trap assembly. The gas sediment trap assembly can be used with conventional gas piping, flexible gas piping, and/or other gas line components.
Mass-attenuated thermosensitive damper for sealed direct-vent gas fireplace
A separate heat absorbing mass is secured in co-planar abutment with a bimetal strip controlling a fireplace damper to absorb heat from the flue gases. The mass transfers heat to the bimetal strip during the OFF cycle thereby delaying the opening of the damper and increasing the heat retention and efficiency of the fireplace.
MODULAR OUTDOOR FIREPLACE AND BRICK OVEN
A modular outdoor fireplace and brick oven system is configured to be easily transportable and assembled. The modular system has a chimney unit and at least one modular unit. The modular unit may be one of an oven unit and a fireplace unit. The chimney unit and at least one modular unit are uniquely aligned using a plurality of alignment means. The alignment means are disposed between the assembled units on a top surface and a bottom surface of each modular unit and the chimney unit. The modular units are designed to allow airflow from each modular unit to reach the chimney unit. The modular units may further have lifting holes designed to easily move the modular units or assembled system with a forklift, lifting straps, and slings.
