AIR CONDITIONER

An air conditioner according to the present disclosure includes: a case that defines an inlet and an outlet; a cross-flow fan that is disposed in the case and causes a flow of air; a heat exchanger that is disposed in the case and configured to exchange heat with flowing air; and a sterilization module that is disposed in the case in a direction of a rotation axis of the cross-flow fan, the sterilization module being configured to irradiate ultraviolet light to the cross-flow fan, wherein the sterilization module includes a plurality of ultraviolet lamps arranged to be spaced apart in the direction of the rotation axis of the cross-flow fan. Accordingly, the sterilization module including the plurality of ultraviolet lamps may be disposed to cover an entire length of the cross-flow fan in the direction of the rotation axis so as to allow an entire area of the cross-flow fan to be thoroughly sterilized, thereby providing the air conditioner including the sterilization module capable of covering the cross-flow fan.

Air conditioner and method for controlling the same

An air conditioner includes a dust collection sheet including a first electrode and a second electrode separated from the first electrode and facing the first electrode, and to collect particles in air, a power supplier electrically connected to the first and second electrodes, and a controller configured to control the power supplier to apply a direct current (DC) voltage to the first electrode to perform a dust collecting operation, determine to perform at least one of a first sterilizing operation at a preset first temperature for a first period of time and a second sterilizing operation at a second temperature higher than the first temperature for a second period of time shorter than the first period of time, and control the power supplier to apply an alternate current (AC) voltage to the first electrode and the second electrode for the first sterilizing operation or the second sterilizing operation.

METHOD FOR STERILIZING INDOOR UNIT FAN, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEREFOR

An air conditioner includes: a fan; an ultraviolet (UV) light emitter; memory storing instructions; and at least one processor, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the air conditioner to: perform a sterilization operation on a first region of the fan by controlling the UV light emitter to irradiate the first region with the UV light, after performing the sterilization operation on the first region, rotate the fan to change a region of the fan on which the sterilization operation is to be performed to a second region, determine whether the second region being irradiated with the UV light has been previously subjected to the sterilization operation, and based on determining that the second region has been previously subjected to the sterilization operation, rotate the fan again to change the region of the fan on which the sterilization operation is to be performed.

To Provide a sterilization unit (11) whereby inspection and a replacement operation of an ultraviolet lamp (32) can be carried out safely. A sterilization unit (11) is provided with: a casing (12), maintenance panels (41, 51) that are removably attached to the outer surface of the casing (12), an ultraviolet lamp (32) that sterilizes air passing through the interior of the casing (12), a control board (65a) for the ultraviolet lamp (32), and an electrical component box (61) in which the control board (65a) is accommodated. The casing (12) is provided with a shield unit (101) which prevents ultraviolet light emitted by the ultraviolet lamp (32) from leaking to the exterior of the casing (12) through screw holes for attaching the maintenance panels (41, 51).

Air conditioner

An air conditioner that may include a case that forms an exterior thereof; a panel having an air inlet and disposed at one side of the case; an electric dust collector that collects foreign substances introduced through the air inlet; and a high voltage applying device electrically connected to the electric dust collector. The electric dust collector includes a discharge electrode that extends toward the air inlet and charges particles contained in air introduced through the air inlet, and an electrode holder that supports the discharge electrode so that an angle formed between an extension direction of the discharge electrode and a flow direction of air introduced through the air inlet may be changed, such that distribution of an ion field may be adjusted by adjusting the angle between the discharge electrode and the flow direction.
