A blower assembly has a blower housing comprising at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet and a blower deck extending from the outlet, wherein the blower deck comprises at least one substantially flat component having a substantially orthogonal wall extending from the flat component.

An air-conditioning indoor unit includes: a casing disposed indoors; a fan disposed inside the casing; a heat exchanger disposed inside the casing and that includes a plurality of flat multi-perforated pipes arranged side by side and one above another; and a drain pan disposed below the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes an upper heat-exchange area and a lower heat-exchange area. When the heat exchanger is used as a condenser, a subcooling area subcools a refrigerant flowing in an interior of the heat exchanger. The subcooling area includes one or more of the flat multi-perforated pipes disposed in the lower heat-exchange area. The drain pan includes: a bottom portion that is disposed below the heat exchanger; and a wall that stands on the bottom portion and that is disposed on a downwind side of the heat exchanger.

The energy efficient arrangement includes a first pre-heating heat exchanger supported in a front compartment of the main casing, and positioned between an outdoor air intake opening and an outdoor heat exchanging portion of the front heat exchanger. The air conditioning and heat pump tower may be operated between an air conditioning mode for absorbing heat from the indoor space, and a heat pump mode for producing heat to the indoor space. A predetermined amount of ambient air may be drawn through the outdoor air intake opening and may be pre-heated by the energy efficient arrangement before delivering to the indoor space.
