HVAC SYSTEMS WITH EVAPORATOR BYPASS AND SUPPLY AIR RECIRCULATION AND METHODS OF USING SAME
An HVAC system includes an evaporator coil disposed between a return air duct and a supply air duct. The system includes a compressor fluidically connected to the evaporator coil, and a blower for providing a flow of air through the HVAC system. A controller determines an operating mode of the HVAC system.
High efficiency dehumidification system and method
This document describes a high efficiency dehumidification system (HEDS) and method of operating the same. The HEDS systems and physical implementations can include a variety of equipment, such as fans, filtration systems, fluid-conveying coils, piping or tubing, heat transfer coils, vents, louvers, dampers, valves, fluid chillers, fluid heaters, or the like. Any of the implementations described herein can also include controls and logic, responsive to one or more sensors or other input devices, for controlling the equipment for each implementation described herein.
Demand control ventilation with predictive humidity control
Systems, apparatus and methods for operating an environmental control system that delivers dehumidified outdoor air into a conditioned space through an air valve. The method includes establishing CO.sub.2 setpoints corresponding to a ventilation outdoor air flow rate and a dehumidification outdoor air flow rate, determining a humidity metric of the conditioned space, and delivering outside air to the conditioned space at the ventilation outdoor air flow rate or dehumidification outdoor air flow rate based upon the humidity metric. The outside air may be tempered with return air from the conditioned space. The dehumidification CO.sub.2 set point is determined by predicting the dehumidification CO.sub.2 set point based on the airflow quantity per occupant and the relationship of the occupant predicted water vapor emission rate and CO.sub.2 emission rate.
DEHUMIDIFIER
A dehumidifier includes a machine body. The machine body includes a case including an air inlet and an air outlet, a condenser provided in the case, an evaporator provided in the case, an axial flow fan vertically provided in the case and side by side with the condenser and the evaporator, and a water receiving tray below the condenser, the evaporator, and the axial flow fan. The water receiving tray is configured to divide the case into an axial flow air duct and a mounting cavity.
Pre-cooling device dehumidifier
A dehumidifier with a pre-cooling device includes a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, a microchannel pre-cooler and an evaporator assembly. During operation, moist air enters from an air inlet of the dehumidifier, and passes through the microchannel pre-cooler to make the moist air to reach a saturated steam state and passes through the evaporator assembly for heat exchange to condense and dehumidify the moist air, and the dehumidified air passes through the condenser for heating and finally discharged from the air outlet, so that the water vapor in the moist air can be condensed into a liquid better to improve the condensation and dehumidification effects of the evaporator and reduce the air humidity effectively, so as to improve the dehumidification effect of the equipment.
Fluid management system and method
A fluid management system and method includes a thermal management system disposed within a housing that includes conduits extending between a source and a destination of a first fluid. The first fluid exchanges heat with cooling devices as the first fluid moves between the source and the destination. A fluid mixture including the first fluid and a second fluid, and an exhaust are generated responsive to the first fluid exchanging heat with the cooling devices. The exhaust directed toward an outlet of the housing. A separator assembly fluidly coupled with and disposed downstream of the thermal management system receives the fluid mixture and separates the first fluid from the second fluid. The first fluid is directed in a first direction out of the separator assembly and the second fluid is directed toward the outlet to be combined with the exhaust.
PORTABLE DEHUMIDIFIER WITH REMOTE MOISTURE SENSOR
A portable dehumidifier includes a remote moisture sensor that is capable of being physically positioned at a location that is remote from a portable housing of the portable dehumidifier to sense moisture at the location. In some instances, the remote moisture sensor may be positioned near or on clothing in order to sense the dryness of the clothing and/or positioned near or on floors, walls, furniture, etc., in order sense the dryness thereof in connection with water damage restoration.
Dehumidifying apparatus
A first heat exchanger, a desiccant block, and a second heat exchanger are arranged in series. In a dehumidification operation, a first operation mode in which the first heat exchanger acts as a condenser or a radiator and the second heat exchanger acts as an evaporator and a second operation mode in which the first heat exchanger acts as an evaporator and the second heat exchanger acts as a condenser or a radiator are alternately repeated.
Heat modulation dehumidification system
A dehumidification system includes a compressor, a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a modulating valve, and an alternate condenser. The secondary evaporator receives an inlet airflow and outputs a first airflow to the primary evaporator. The primary evaporator receives the first airflow and outputs a second airflow to the secondary condenser. The secondary condenser receives the second airflow and outputs a third airflow to the primary condenser. The primary condenser receives the third airflow and outputs a dehumidified airflow. The compressor receives a flow of refrigerant from the primary evaporator and provides the flow of refrigerant to the modulating valve. The modulating valve directs the flow of refrigerant to the primary condenser and to the alternate condenser. The alternate condenser receives a portion of the flow of refrigerant for heat rejection, where the primary condenser receives the remaining portion of the flow of refrigerant.
System and method for ventilating and dehumidifying a space
A dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) includes an outdoor unit providing a temperature at a set dry bulb temperature and dew point temperature in a wide variety of outdoor air conditions. The DOAS monitors and modulates suction pressure and head pressure in order to maintain a dew point temperature of 45° F. for supplied air. Furthermore, the DOAS includes a hot gas reheat coil, allowing the system to heat the air to 73° F. before supplying the air to a space, even where outdoor air temperature is lower than 73° F. In one embodiment, the DOAS includes an energy recovery ventilator (ERV) in order to precondition the air to decrease the amount of energy needed to operate the DOAS in some conditions.
