The present invention relates to an apparatus capable of purifying air and maintaining freshness inside a refrigerator while minimizing deformation of the structure of an existing refrigerator, and a method for controlling the same. The apparatus for air purification and freshness maintenance according to the present invention is formed separately from a storage space (12) of a refrigerator (10) and is installed on a cooling passage (14) which communicates with the storage space (12) through an inlet (13) and an outlet (15), wherein a photocatalyst filter (30) is installed in the vicinity of the outlet (15) within the cooling passage (14), and a plurality of cells (32) forming an air vent are formed in the photocatalyst filter (30) in the same direction as the air flow direction within the cooling passage (14), in which a UV LED (41) for radiating ultraviolet rays toward the cells (32) of the photocatalyst filter (30) is installed.
STOREHOUSE
The present disclosure relates to a storehouse. In one aspect of the present disclosure, a storehouse may include a first storage space configured to provide a space in which goods are stored within a predetermined temperature or a predetermined temperature range and a second storage space configured to provide a space in which a first heat exchanger is accommodated. The storehouse may include a third storage space configured to provide a space in which a second heat exchanger is accommodated. The storehouse may include a coupling device configured to transmit power to the second storage space so that the second storage space is coupled to the first storage space, and the second storage space may be fluidly connected to the first storage space.
Cooling System and Method
A cooling system having a cooling chamber including a surface defining one or more openings. A surface is configured to hold at least one container. An access door provides access to the cooling chamber. A refrigeration system is configured to cool the cooling chamber by forcing cool airflow through the one or more openings in the surface. The airflow through each of the one or more openings may be similar.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator includes: an inner case having a storage chamber; a thermoelectric module including a thermoelectric element and a cooling sink; a fan configured to circulate air, to the storage chamber; a fan cover configured to cover the fan and having an upper discharge hole, a lower discharge hole, and an inner suction hole formed between the upper discharge hole and the lower discharge hole; a first receiving member disposed in the storage chamber; and a second receiving member disposed over the first receiving member to be spaced apart from the first receiving member. At least a portion of each of the inner suction hole and the lower discharge hole faces a portion between the first receiving member and the second receiving member, and at least a portion of the upper discharge hole faces a portion between a top surface of the storage chamber and the second receiving member.
REFRIGERATOR WITH EASY ACCESS DRAWER
A bottom mount refrigerator is provided with a pantry compartment that is accessible from outside the refrigerator by pulling open an easy access pantry drawer without the need to first open the fresh food compartment or the freezer compartment. A divider between the pantry compartment and the fresh food compartment is formed by a secondary mullion and a transparent shelf. The secondary mullion is provided with a light source for illuminating the contents of the pantry drawer. A light source at the rear of the pantry compartment shines generally forwardly and upwardly to illuminate the fresh food compartment.
SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL FOR IMPINGER
A method of reducing a temperature of at least one item including: transporting the at least one item on a moving substrate within an enclosure, the enclosure including at least one impingement apparatus; providing a coolant to at least one of a high pressure zone or a low pressure zone of the enclosure; circulating the coolant through the high and low pressure zones using a variable-speed gas circulation device of the impingement apparatus; directing impingement jets through openings in at least one impinger of the impingement apparatus toward the moving substrate disposed within the low pressure zone; and intermittently performing an operation on the at least one impingement apparatus during said transporting including: (i) reducing a speed of the variable-speed gas circulation device; (ii) vibrating the at least one impinger; and (iii) increasing the speed of the variable-speed gas circulation device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPINGEMENT FREEZING OF IRREGULARLY SHAPED PRODUCTS
An impinger for cooling or freezing products includes an impingement plate containing openings for directing impingement jets of a mixture of gas and solid or liquid cryogen toward the products transported on a conveyor, wherein the openings in aggregate have an open area of about 7% to about 12% of the total surface area of the impingement plate, the impingement plate providing a back pressure restriction of about 220 to about 475 Pa. A process for cooling or freezing products within a housing chamber includes transporting the products, particularly IQF food products, on a moving substrate within the chamber, mixing a gas with solid or liquid cryogen to form a mixture, directing the mixture to the aforementioned impinger; and selectively directing the pressurized impingement jets of the mixture from the impingement plate toward the products transported on the substrate.
REFRIGERATOR
A refrigerator includes: a cabinet in which a refrigerating compartment is provided; a first door connected to the cabinet to open and close the refrigerating compartment and having an opening; a housing provided in the first door and accessible through the opening therein; an ice making room provided in the housing; a storage room that is provided below the ice making room and maintained at a temperature different from that of the refrigerating compartment; a guide duct provided below the ice making room to guide discharge of ice; a second door connected to the first door; a dispenser disposed on a front surface of the second door; and a discharge duct provided in the second door, wherein, when the second door is closed, the guide duct communicates with the discharge duct, and ice made in the ice making room is discharged to the dispenser.
