Moisture control system for an appliance and method for controlling moisture within an appliance
A moisture control system includes a cabinet having a mullion defining first and second compartments and openings within the mullion to provide selective communication between the compartments. An evaporator is disposed in the first compartment. A cooling bank is disposed in the second compartment in selective thermal communication with the evaporator, and includes cooling and condensing portions separated by a dividing member, and a fluid collector disposed proximate the condensing portion. A first cooling fan is disposed proximate the evaporator and configured to direct air across the evaporator and through the first compartment. A second cooling fan is disposed proximate the cooling bank and operable between an evaporator position in fluid communication with the evaporator and the cooling bank, and a bank position in fluid communication with the cooling bank. A panel assembly is disposed proximate the plurality of openings and operable between a plurality of positions.
Refrigerator with intermediate temperature icemaking compartment
An icemaking compartment is provided in the refrigerator compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. An icemaker is within the icemaking compartment. A cold air duct supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaker. The cold air duct is formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator. A fan controls the flow of air through the cold air duct. A return air duct is provided to direct a portion of the air from the icemaker back to the freezer compartment. An air vent in the icemaker directs another portion of air into the refrigerator compartment.
REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A refrigerator and a method of control thereof, whereby after driving of a compressor and a blower fan is stopped as temperatures of a refrigeration compartment and a freezer compartment are in a satisfactory state, opening/closing operations of a damper are repeatedly performed, so that cold air in the freezer compartment is supplied into the refrigeration compartment. Alternatively, if the temperature of the refrigeration compartment reaches an upper limit temperature, the repeated opening/closing operations of the damper are started. The repeated opening/closing operations of the damper are performed until the temperature of the refrigeration compartment reaches a lower limit temperature, so that a cooling operation of the refrigeration compartment is performed only once while the compressor is being driven.
REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE FAN
A refrigeration appliance includes a freezer compartment fluidly coupled to an ice maker compartment via an ice maker return duct. An internal sensor is positioned within the freezer compartment and configured to sense a first condition within the freezer compartment. An external sensor is coupled to said refrigeration appliance and configured to sense a second condition external to said refrigeration appliance. A return fan is positioned within the ice maker return duct. A controller is operably coupled to the internal and external sensors to receive sensed first and second conditions. The controller is configured to determine a differential between the sensed first condition within the freezer compartment and the sensed second condition external to said refrigeration appliance. The controller activates the return fan to blow air from the ice maker compartment into the freezer compartment in response to the differential.
Split air pathway
A refrigerator includes a refrigerator cabinet, a freezer compartment disposed within the refrigerator cabinet, a fresh food compartment disposed within the refrigerator cabinet, an ice making compartment remote from the freezer compartment, and a fresh food compartment duct riser extending upwardly along a back of the fresh food compartment. The refrigerator further includes a shroud associated with a freezer compartment evaporator, an ice compartment supply duct leading from the shroud to the ice making compartment, and an ice compartment return duct leading from the ice making compartment towards the freezer compartment evaporator. The ice compartment supply duct has a split pathway and is positioned behind the fresh food compartment duct riser.
Refrigerator fan cover with active louvers and method of operation
A refrigerator appliance including a sealed cooling system with an evaporator in a frozen food storage chamber is presented. The evaporator includes a cover with movable louvers to allow chilled air to flow to the frozen food storage chamber in a first position and to block the flow in a second position, and a method of operation for such a refrigerator appliance.
REFRIGERATOR APPLIANCE AND AIRFLOW SYSTEM
A refrigerator appliance is provided, including an outer case forming a refrigeration compartment and an inlet flow passage configured to provide cooled air from a cooling system to the refrigeration compartment. An airflow panel is positioned at a top wall at the refrigeration compartment. The airflow panel is positioned in fluid communication with the inlet flow passage to receive a flow of fluid. The airflow panel includes a plurality of openings providing fluid communication from a volume between the airflow panel and the top wall to the refrigeration compartment.
Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes an inner case including (i) a refrigerating case that defines a refrigerator compartment and (ii) a freezing case that defines a freezer compartment, an outer case disposed outside the inner case, a connection duct disposed between the inner case and the outer case, and a refrigerator compartment cold air supply duct that is detachably coupled to a rear inner surface of the refrigerating case and in fluid communication with the connection duct. The connection duct and the refrigerator compartment cold air supply duct are in communication on a rear surface of the refrigerating case with the refrigerating case interposed therebetween, thereby reducing the area occupied by the refrigerator compartment cold air supply duct disposed in the rear inner surface of the refrigerator compartment.
Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes: an outer case; an inner case; an evaporator; a partition detachably mounted inside the inner case to define a refrigerating compartment and a freezing compartment below the refrigerating compartment; a cold air duct at the rear of the partition, the cold air duct being configured to guide cold air inside the inner case; and a cold air connector connected to the cold air duct from an outside of the inner case, the cold air connector being configured to deliver the cold air inside the refrigerating compartment to the evaporator. The cold air duct includes: a first discharge hole; a second discharge hole; and a return flow path extending from the refrigerating compartment to the cold air connector.
Refrigerator
A refrigerator includes a body including a first storage compartment and a second storage compartment; an evaporator provided in the second storage compartment and configured to supply cold air to the first storage compartment and the second storage compartment; an evaporator cover mounted to the body to cover the evaporator and including at least a first return flow path communicably connected to the first storage compartment; and an insulating partition provided between the first storage compartment and the second storage compartment and including a partition return flow path communicably connecting the first storage compartment and the first return flow path.
