A refrigerator includes a cabinet that defines a first storage compartment and an opening at a front side of the first storage compartment, an inner door that is configured to open and close at least a portion of the first storage compartment and that defines a second storage compartment configured to store one or more items, an outer door configured to open and close at least a portion of the second storage compartment, a cold air supply unit configured to supply cold air to each of the first storage compartment and the second storage compartment, and a cold air duct located in the first storage compartment and configured to, based on the inner door being oriented in an open position or a closed position, selectively communicate with the cold air supply unit and the second storage compartment.

CONTROLLED BLAST CELL COOLING

A blast cell system is disclosed that includes a plurality of bays that are spaced across the blast cell, arranged to hold items to be cooled, wherein each bay is separated from each other bay so as to prevent cross-flow of air from one bay to another bay; a plurality of louvers, each covering a different bay of the plurality of bays; one or more flow sensors, temperature sensors, or both positioned to sense conditions for each of the plurality of bays; and a controller programmed to modulate open-closed positions of each of the plurality of louvers separately from others of the plurality of louvers, so as to allow different volumes of cooling air to flow through each respective bay.

ICE MAKING SYSTEM AND AIR FLOW CIRCULATION FOR SLIMLINE ICE COMPARTMENT

A refrigerator including a refrigerator compartment; a freezer compartment; an ice compartment disposed in the refrigerator compartment; an ice maker assembly disposed in the ice compartment, the ice maker assembly including an ice maker tray/evaporator having an evaporator cooling tube which is in direct contact with the ice maker tray portion; an ice bucket for storing ice disposed in the ice compartment; and an air handler/auger motor assembly disposed at a rear portion of the ice compartment behind the ice bucket. The air handler/auger motor assembly includes an air passage having a fan disposed therein. An inlet of the fan communicates with an airflow passage under the ice maker tray/evaporator, such that the fan creates a suction and draws cool air from the ice maker tray/evaporator and discharges the cool air through the air passage and to the ice bucket to prevent any ice in the ice bucket from melting.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator include: an inner case having a storage chamber; a thermoelectric module including a thermoelectric element and a cooling sink; a fan configured to circulate air, to the storage chamber; a fan cover configured to cover the fan and having an upper discharge hole, a lower discharge hole, and an inner suction hole formed between the upper discharge hole and the lower discharge hole; a first receiving member disposed in the storage chamber; and a second receiving member disposed over the first receiving member to be spaced apart from the first receiving member. At least a portion of each of the inner suction hole and the lower discharge hole faces a portion between the first receiving member and the second receiving member, and at least a portion of the upper discharge hole faces a portion between a top surface of the storage chamber and the second receiving member.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator includes a plurality of storage compartments and an evaporator configured to generate cold air through heat exchange. A duct includes a plurality of channels to carry cold air to the plurality of storage compartments and a fan is configured to supply cold air generated by the evaporator to the plurality of channels. A cold-air adjuster includes a plurality of open or close members provided in the plurality of channels, to adjust the volume of cold air flowing into the plurality of storage compartments. An actuator is configured to interlock operation of one of the plurality of open or close members with operation of another of the open or close members.
