Method and system of dehydrating a feed stream processed in a distillation tower
The present disclosure provides a method of dehydrating a feed stream processed in a distillation tower. The method may include (a) introducing a feed stream comprising a first contaminant stream into a distillation tower; (b) forming a solid from the feed stream in a controlled freeze zone section of the distillation tower; (c) feeding a second contaminant stream into the feed stream outside the distillation tower; and (d) removing water from the feed stream with a second contaminant stream by feeding the second contaminant stream.
THERMOACOUSTIC REFRIGERATOR
A thermoacoustic refrigerator includes at least one pair of pulse combustion tubes (10), preferably Rijke tubes, each tube (10) having a pair of spaced-apart Stirling engines (12), coupled together but with no separating membrane therebetween.
Method and system of modifying a liquid level during start-up operations
The present disclosure provides a method for separating a feed stream in a distillation tower. The method includes operating a controlled freeze zone section in a distillation tower that separates a feed stream at a temperature and pressure at which the feed stream forms a solid in the controlled freeze zone section, wherein the feed stream includes a first contaminant; maintaining a melt tray assembly in the controlled freeze zone section; introducing the feed stream to the controlled freeze zone section; and accumulating a liquid in the melt tray assembly until the liquid is at a predetermined liquid level in the controlled freeze zone section, by: feeding a second contaminant to the controlled freeze zone section; and adding the second contaminant to the melt tray assembly, wherein the liquid comprises the second contaminant.
Method and system of controlling a temperature within a melt tray assembly of a distillation tower
A method and system of controlling a temperature within a melt tray assembly of a distillation tower. The method may include determining a melt tray fluid composition of a melt tray fluid, determining a melt tray fluid temperature of the melt tray fluid, determining if the melt tray fluid temperature is within an expected melt tray fluid temperature range for the melt tray fluid composition, decreasing the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is greater than an expected melt tray fluid temperature range upper limit, increasing the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is less than an expected melt tray fluid temperature range lower limit, and maintaining the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is within the expected melt tray fluid temperature range.
Integrated Nitrogen Removal in the Production of Liquefied Natural Gas Using Intermediate Feed Gas Separation
A method and apparatus for liquefying a natural gas feed stream and removing nitrogen therefrom to produce a nitrogen-depleted LNG product, in which a natural gas feed stream is fed into the warm end of a main heat exchanger, cooled and at least partially liquefied, withdrawn from an intermediate location of the main heat exchanger and separated to form a nitrogen-enriched natural gas vapor stream and a nitrogen-depleted natural gas liquid stream, the liquid and vapor streams being reintroduced into an intermediate location of the main heat exchanger and further cooled in parallel to form a first LNG stream and a first at least partially liquefied nitrogen-enriched natural gas stream, respectively.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TREATING ASSOCIATED GAS
A system and method for treating associated gas in which a stream of raw gas is passed through safety valving, an inlet pressure control mechanism, and an inlet scrubber. Pressure/temperature data is transmitted to a control system via pressure and temperature transducers. The raw gas is sent to a gas compressor to generate pressurized gas, which is sent to an aerial cooler and a chiller heat exchanger, in which a chilling media contacts the pressurized gas. The chilled pressurized gas is sent to a vapor liquid separator to generate processed gas, which is routed through either a system backpressure valve or a pressure reducing recycle valve that directs the processed gas to the inlet scrubber. The processed gas that has passed through the system backpressure valve is delivered as fuel or routed through a backpressure regulating recycle valve that directs the processed gas to a system inlet pressure reducing valve.
NOx removal method
The invention relates to mixtures comprising molecular hydrogen, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides; to processes for removing at least a portion of the nitrogen oxides therefrom; to equipment useful in such processes; and to the use of such hydrocarbons for, e.g., chemical manufacturing.
REMOVING HEAVY HYDROCARBONS TO PREVENT DEFROST SHUTDOWNS IN LNG PLANTS
Embodiments provide a method for preventing shutdowns in LNG facilities by removing heavy hydrocarbons from the inlet gas supply. According to an embodiment, there is provided an LNG facility treating pipeline quality natural gas that is contaminated with lubrication oil and low concentrations of heavy hydrocarbons. Due to contamination, the behavior of the pipeline quality natural gas is not properly predicted by thermodynamic modeling. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a drain system in a heat exchanger. In an embodiment, heavy hydrocarbons are removed by a treatment bed.
Fuel Gas Conditioning System and Process to Improve Output Gas Quality
The invention relates to a refrigeration system that in mode 1 prepares a reservoir of cooled refrigerant before flowing unconditioned gas through the system, and in mode 2, continuously cools feed gas with the prepared refrigerant inventory, extracting natural gas liquids (NGLs) comprising predominantly ethane, propane, butane, and condensate and controlled by a control system without needing ramp up time.
Integrated expander-motor compressor
An expander and motor-compressor unit is disclosed. The unit includes a casing and an electric motor arranged in the casing. A compressor is arranged in the casing and drivingly coupled to the electric motor through a central shaft. Furthermore, a turbo-expander is arranged for rotation in the casing and is drivingly coupled to the electric motor and to the compressor through the central shaft.
