Adsorbent regeneration method
In a cyclic adsorptive gas purification process, an impurity laden adsorbent is regenerated by exposing it first to an unheated gas for a pre-determined time period to desorb at least some of the impurity, followed by heating the adsorbent using a flowing stream of a heated gas to desorb the remaining impurities over another pre-determined time period, further followed by cooling of the adsorbent using a flowing stream of gas for yet another pre-determined time period to make it ready for repeating the adsorptive cycle. Introducing an unheated purge stream reduces the energy requirements for the regeneration step compared to a traditional TSA process.

An intelligent controls system for remotely monitoring and controlling a chemical process is disclosed. The system comprises a piece of remote field equipment for performing the chemical process, a user device, a server, and program codes to perform the steps of establishing an equipment-server and a client-server connection, receiving a set of chemical process input parameters and a set of desired chemical process output parameters, controlling a set of chemical process control parameters to achieve the desired chemical process output parameters, and providing an interface to allow an operator to manually control and/or manually override the set of chemical process control parameters. The controls system allows any piece of remote field equipment for performing complex chemical processing to be monitored, controlled, and operated remotely. A large array of distributed field equipment situated around the world can all be controlled primarily through a single interface provided in a central control center.
DISTRIBUTOR MODULE FOR A PROCESS PLANT
A distributor module for a process plant, in particular an air-separation plant, which can be connected by means of fluid lines to a main-air-compressor arrangement, at least two adsorbers, each of which can be operated in an adsorption phase and a regeneration phase, and a main-heat-exchanger arrangement, comprising a compressor connection, comprising, for each adsorber to be connected, a pair of connections having a first adsorber connection and a second adsorber connection, comprising a first heat-exchanger connection and a second heat-exchanger connection, and comprising a residual-gas connection or a residual-gas outlet; and a valve-and-flap assembly which is designed to act, according to choice, for each pair of connections, in a first state of the pair of connections, or; in a second state of the pair of connections.
CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATION METHOD FOR PRODUCING OXYGEN AT HIGH PRESSURES
The present invention relates to a cryogenic air separation process that provides high pressure oxygen for an oxy-fired combustion of a fuel (e.g., a carbonaceous fuel). The air separation process can be directly integrated into a closed cycle power production process utilizing a working fluid, such as CO.sub.2. Beneficially, the air separation process can eliminate the need for inter-cooling between air compression stages and rather provide for recycling the adiabatic heat of compression into a process step in further methods wherein an additional heat supply is beneficial.
CRYOGENIC ADSORPTION PROCESS FOR XENON RECOVERY
An adsorption process for xenon recovery from a cryogenic liquid or gas stream is described wherein a bed of adsorbent is contacted with the aforementioned xenon containing liquid or gas stream and adsorbs the xenon selectively from this fluid stream. The adsorption bed is operated to at least near full breakthrough with xenon to enable a deep rejection of other stream components, prior to regeneration using the temperature swing method. Operating the adsorption bed to near full breakthrough with xenon, prior to regeneration, enables production of a high purity product from the adsorption bed and further enables oxygen to be used safely as a purge gas, even in cases where hydrocarbons are co-present in the feed stream.
Process and apparatus for the separation of a stream containing carbon dioxide, water and at least one light impurity including a separation step at subambient temperature
In a process for the separation of a stream containing carbon dioxide, water and at least one light impurity including a separation step at subambient temperature, the feed stream is compressed in a compressor comprising at least two stages to form a compressed feed stream, the compressed feed stream is purified in an adsorption unit to remove water and form a dried compressed stream, the dried compressed stream or a stream derived therefrom is cooled to a subambient temperature and separated by partial condensation and/or distillation in a separation apparatus, liquid enriched in carbon dioxide is removed from the separation apparatus, the adsorption unit is regenerated using a regeneration gas and the regeneration gas is formed by separating, by permeation in a permeation unit, the dried compressed stream or a gas derived therefrom, the permeate of the permeation unit constituting the regeneration gas.
