Process for preparing dispersion powders
The invention provides a process for preparing dispersion powders by spray drying of aqueous polymer dispersions of polymers of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from the group encompassing vinyl esters, methacrylic esters, acrylic esters, olefins, dienes, vinylaromatics, and vinyl halides with a drying gas in a nozzle atomization dryer, characterized in that the aqueous polymer dispersion (feed), before being atomized, is preheated under pressure to a temperature of 100° C. to 200° C. and is atomized at this temperature, the pressure being set such that the aqueous phase of the polymer dispersion does not boil at the temperature selected.
Formulations and Methods for Contemporaneous Stabilization of Active Proteins During Spray Drying and Storage
A method of treatment of plasma with a physiologically compatible spray dry stable acidic substance (SDSAS) prior to or contemporaneously with spray drying of the plasma that results in greater recovery and greater long-term stabilization of the dried plasma proteins as compared to spray dried plasma that has not be subject to the formulation method of the present invention, as well as compostions related to plasma dried by the methods of the present invention.

Heating compartment for supplying heat and spray dryer for drying an article which is to be dried
A heating compartment which provides heat. The heating compartment includes a combustion chamber which generates the heat via a combustion of a fuel, and at least one measuring sensor arranged within the heating compartment and/or at the combustion chamber. The at least one measuring sensor detects a measurement variable. The at least one measuring sensor has a self-sufficient energy supply system so that the at least one measuring sensor can operate independently of an external cable-based energy supply system.
SPRAY-DRIED POWDERS
Spray-dried encapsulated flavor powders are described, having particles that are large sized, highly flowable, fully dense, and highly dispersible and/or soluble, with low surface area to volume ratio, and high bulk density. Such flavor powders provide high retention of flavor components, and are advantageously produced by low temperature spray drying processes, e.g., single-step processes in which drying is intensified by techniques variously described herein.
A SPRAY DRYING APPARATUS WITH A PLENUM CHAMBER BELOW A PERFORATED BOTTOM OF A SPRAY DRYING CHAMBER
A spray drying apparatus has a spray drying chamber; a liquid feed atomizer; a drying gas disperser; a perforated bottom; and a plenum chamber with an outlet below the perforated bottom. At least one guide plate is provided in the plenum chamber to direct gas, which is passing through the perforated bottom into the plenum chamber, towards the bottom of the plenum chamber. The guide plates have lower edges extending on average down to at least half-way between the perforated bottom of the spray drying chamber and the bottom of the plenum chamber.

ELECTROSTATIC SPRAY DRYING NOZZLE ASSEMBLY
An electrostatic sprayer operable at high flow rates and low pressures particularly suitable for spray drying. The sprayer includes an elongated body having a downstream spray nozzle assembly through which electrically charged liquid is directed via a central feed tube within the nozzle body and atomizing air is supplied via an annular passage about the liquid feed tube. In one embodiment, the nozzle assembly is an external mix cluster head spray nozzle assembly having a plurality of circumferentially spaced metallic spray tips. In another embodiment, the spray nozzle is an internal mix nozzle assembly having a spray tip with an internal mixing chamber for atomizing liquid prior to discharge.
SPRAY NOZZLE
A removable insert and a spray nozzle which includes the removable insert and a nozzle cap. The removable insert has a base member and a protruding member. The nozzle cap has an annular flange which delimits an interior locating surface for the insert. The flange extends radially and ends with an internal extremity which defines a planar spray opening. When in use, the base member is housed within the nozzle cap whilst the protruding member projects outwardly and stands proud of the planar spray opening.
