Adjustable path length of print media in a dryer of a printing system
Systems and methods for adjustable path length of print media in a dryer of a printing system. In one embodiment, the dryer includes a drum that applies heat to a web of print media. The dryer also includes first rollers positioned in an arc around the drum to define a path of travel of the web along the arc when the web is between an entrance of the dryer and the drum. The dryer further includes second rollers positioned inside the arc from the first rollers to reverse the path of travel of the web inside the arc when the web is between the drum and an exit of the dryer. A first roller and a second roller transport the web around the drum. A location of the first roller and the second roller relative to the arc defines a length of the web inside the dryer.
Electrode Sheet Drying Apparatus Capable of Preventing Thermal Wrinkles in Non-Coated Portion
The present invention relates to an electrode sheet drying apparatus capable of preventing thermal wrinkles in a non-coated portion, and more particularly to an electrode sheet drying apparatus for drying an electrode sheet including a pair of coated portions each having an electrode active material applied to one surface of metal foil and a non-coated portion located between the pair of coated portions, the apparatus including a chamber configured to dry the electrode sheet therein, a heater provided at an upper part of the chamber, the heater being configured to adjust the temperature in the chamber to a temperature necessary to dry the electrode sheet, and at least one guide roll configured to guide movement of the electrode sheet in the chamber and to maintain tension of the electrode sheet, wherein a part of the electrode sheet is moved in a state of being spaced apart from the guide roll.
Concentric arrangement of web conditioning modules in a dryer of a print system
Systems and methods for concentric arrangement of web conditioning modules in a dryer of a printing system. In one embodiment a dryer includes a drum, first rollers positioned in an arc around the drum to define a web path between an entrance of the dryer and the drum, and second rollers positioned along the arc between the first rollers and the drum that reverse the web path between the drum and an exit of the dryer. The dryer further includes first web conditioners positioned along the arc and beyond the first rollers from the drum that direct energy toward a portion of the web path that is between the entrance of the dryer and the drum. The dryer further includes second web conditioners positioned along the arc between the second rollers and the drum that direct energy toward a portion of the web path that wraps around the drum.
Drum temperature control for a radiant dryer of a printing system
Systems and methods provide enhanced radiant drying capabilities for a printing system utilizing temperature control of a thermally conductive drum. One embodiment comprises a radiant dryer and a control system. The radiant dryer includes a thermally conductive drum and a plurality of radiant energy sources disposed along an outside surface of the drum. The energy sources dry a colorant applied to a print medium in contact with the drum. The radiant dryer further includes a cooling system that applies a coolant to the drum to remove heat from the drum. The control system measures the temperature of the drum, determines a difference between the temperature of the drum and a target temperature, and directs the cooling system to vary an application of the coolant to the drum based on the difference to maintain the drum at the target temperature.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a dryer that heats and dries a print base material on which a print image is formed in a printing unit. The dryer includes a rotational drum that supports and transports the print base material, and a blower unit that blows hot air to the print base material supported by the rotational drum. The dryer includes a movement unit that displaces the blower unit to a first position which allows the print base material to be heated and to a second position which is away from the print base material while maintaining the blower unit in operation.

Disclosed is an apparatus for drying a component transferred in a reel-to-reel method. The apparatus for drying a component transferred in a reel-to-reel method includes an uncoiler and a recoiler, both for transferring the component, a drying chamber disposed between the uncoiler and the recoiler and drying the component, wherein the drying chamber includes an inner space, a transfer roller for transferring the component; an infrared drier for irradiating infrared light toward the component, and a hot air supplier for supplying hot air between the infrared drier and the component.
