A treatment plant and method for treating workpieces, in particular for coating and/or drying vehicle bodies, having a treatment device with a housing in which a treatment space is accommodated. A conveyor system having a multitude of transport trolleys for conveying workpieces through the treatment space, wherein each transport trolley has a chassis and a fastening device for at least one workpiece, which are coupled together by means of a connecting device. Outside the treatment space, there is a guiding area with a travel space for the chassis. The travel space is connected to the treatment space via a connecting passage such that the chassis of a transport trolley can move in the travel space and at the same time the fastening device is entrained in the treatment space and the connecting device extends through the connecting passage. The travel space is defined by a travel space housing and a gas device is present to feed a throughflow gas, in particular air, to the travel space. At least a major part of the throughflow gas can again be discharged from the travel space as exhaust gas, without this throughflow gas reaching the treatment space through the connecting passage.

Heat Pump Dryer

A heat pump dryer includes a main casing having an air inlet channel and an air outlet channel, a compressor, a first heat exchanger positioned in the air inlet channel, a second heat exchanger positioned in the air outlet channel, a fan provided in the air inlet channel, and an energy efficient heat exchanger. The energy efficient heat exchanger has a first portion partially exposed to the air inlet channel, and a second portion partially exposed to the air outlet channel. Air is arranged to enter the air inlet channel to sequentially perform heat exchange with the first portion of the energy efficient heat exchanger and the first heat exchanger. Air passing through the air inlet channel is arranged to enter the air outlet channel to sequentially perform heat exchange with the second portion of the energy efficient heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger.

Drying system

A drying system includes a nozzle attached to an air supply duct of a drying chamber that blows out heated air inside the duct toward an object to be dried inside the chamber. The nozzle includes a horn-shaped inner-side surface made of pairs of first and second inner-side surfaces that respectively face each other in first and second directions, an opening width of the second surfaces in the second direction gradually increasing forward in a direction in which the air is blown and being 2 to 25 times inclusive larger than an opening width in the first direction. The drying system includes: the duct with the nozzles; a feeding device feeding air to the duct; and a heating device heats the fed air. The feeding device feeds air to the duct such that the air blown out from the nozzle spreads more in the first direction than in the second.

Thermal processing of bulk solids

An apparatus for drying or conditioning bulk solids, includes a housing including an inlet for receiving the bulk solids, and an outlet for discharging the bulk solids, a plurality of spaced apart heat transfer plates assemblies disposed in the housing between the inlet and the outlet for passage of the bulk solids that flow from the inlet, through spaces between the heat transfer plates, and a sweep gas delivery system for the flow of sweep gas in a first direction across the direction of flow of the bulk solids. The sweep gas delivery system includes at least one valve for reversing the flow of the sweep gas from the first direction to a second direction, opposite to the first direction.

Drying systems and methods including multi-directional air distribution for a dishwashing appliance

A dishwashing appliance includes a tub defining a wash chamber. An inlet is defined in the tub and provides air flow into the wash chamber. An air handler selectively urges air through the inlet in one of a first direction and a second direction different from the first direction. The air flows from the inlet and through the wash chamber of the tub along a first defined path when the air handler urges air through the inlet in the first direction, and the air flows from the inlet and through the wash chamber of the tub along a second defined path when the air handler urges air through the inlet in the second direction.
