Submerged cooler arrangements
The present invention relates to improved subsea or submerged cooler designs for subsea applications, and particularly to a unique pipe support arrangement (5, 16, 17, 18) in a submerged cooler (20), an improved submerged cooler frame (1) and an improved submerged cooler (20).
Subsea processing of well fluids
A wax control element for subsea processing of well fluids in a wellstream comprises a bundle of flowlines within an elongate tensile structure. That structure defines inlet and outlet ends and has cooling and heating provisions that act on the flowlines, in use, to promote deposition of wax in the flowlines and subsequent entrainment of wax in the wellstream.
COOLING APPARATUS FOR COOLING A FLUID BY MEANS OF SURFACE WATER
A cooling apparatus (1) for cooling a fluid withsurface water, comprising at least one tube (8) for containing and transporting the fluid in its interior, the exterior of the tube (8) being in operation at least partially submerged in the surface water so as to cool the tube (8) to thereby also cool the fluid. The cooling apparatus (1) further comprises at least one light source (9) for producing light that hinders fouling on the submerged exterior, wherein the light source (9) is dimensioned and positioned with respect to the tube (8) so as to cast anti-fouling light over the tube's exterior. By this structure anti-fouling of the cooling apparatus (1) can be assured in an alternative and effective manner.
Cooling apparatus for cooling a fluid by means of surface water
A cooling apparatus (1) for cooling a fluid by means of surface water, the cooling apparatus comprising at least one tube (8) for containing and transporting the fluid in its interior, the exterior of the tube (8) being in operation at least partially submerged in the surface water so as to cool the tube (8) to thereby also cool the fluid, characterized in that the cooling apparatus is adapted to receive at least one light source (9) for producing light that hinders fouling, wherein, after the cooling apparatus has received the light source, the at least one light source (9) is dimensioned and positioned with respect to the tube (8) so as to cast anti-fouling light over the tubes' (8) exterior.
Boat hull cooling and marine-drive system with auxiliary raw water cooling reservoir
An improved boat and drive assembly intended for a boat used in a primary shallow water environment has a hull with an integrated closed internal engine heat exchanger and a drive assembly that includes a ring-within-a-ring steering mechanism and an obstacle resistant shoe plate. Stabilizer fins positioned above the shoe plate at a position forward of the spinning propeller allow air and water to exit from the rear of the stabilizer fins away from the spinning propeller. The heat exchanger assembly may include an axillary cooling tank and open heat dissipation system having a raw water reservoir continuously filled with raw water drawn directly from the waterway on which the boat is propelled to enhance the cooling capacity of the integrated internal engine heat exchanger.
Regulating the temperature of a subsea process flow
An apparatus includes a subsea flow line and a two stage heat exchanger. The subsea flow line communicates a process flow that is associated with a subsea well, and the heat exchanger transfers thermal energy between the process flow and an ambient sea. The heat exchanger includes a primary circuit in communication with the flow line to transfer thermal energy with the process flow; and the heat exchanger includes a secondary circuit in thermal communication with the primary circuit to transfer thermal energy with the primary circuit.
Assembly comprising an object having a surface which is intended to be exposed to water and an anti-fouling protector arrangement
An assembly comprises an object (2, 101, 102, 103) having a surface which is intended to be exposed to water during at least a part of the lifetime thereof. In order to be capable of avoiding biofouling of the surface in a first stage of the lifetime of the assembly, without needing to have a supply of power in order to achieve the anti-fouling effect as desired in that first stage, the assembly furthermore comprises an anti-fouling protector arrangement (30) which is adapted to initially prevent the surface from being contacted by water, and which comprises degradable material. Also, the assembly comprises at least one energy source (20) which is adapted to emit energy for causing the protector arrangement (30) to disintegrate.
EVAPORATIVE COOLING FOR TRANSDUCER ARRAY
A transducer system includes a housing, an electromechanical transducer within the housing, a wicking material adjacent to a portion of the electromechanical transducer, and a coolant solution within the housing. The coolant solution transitions from a liquid phase to a gaseous phase in response to a temperature of the electromechanical transducer exceeding a threshold temperature. In some example cases, the coolant solution has a boiling point of less than about 60 C., which effectively defines the threshold temperature. The coolant solution may be chosen such that it remains a liquid during a first phase (cooling via conduction), and then evaporates during a second phase (cooling via conduction and convection) as the electromechanical transducer heats up.
Cooling System for a Water-Borne Vessel
A cooling system for a water-borne vessel (1) is disclosed. The system comprises a strut (5) for supporting a propeller shaft (4) of the vessel, the strut (5) comprising a fluid inlet (8), a fluid outlet (9), and a channel (10) inside the strut (5) for transporting fluid between the fluid inlet and fluid outlet, one or more fluid conduits coupling the fluid inlet and outlet to a component to be cooled, and a pump for circulating a fluid through the conduits and said channel.
