Baffles for thermal transfer devices
A baffle for a fluid collection portion of a thermal transfer device can include a body having an inner perimeter, an outer perimeter, and an asymmetric feature, where the asymmetric feature is configured to create a pressure drop within the fluid collection portion of the thermal transfer device. The inner perimeter can be configured to be at least as large as an inner surface of a first wall that forms the fluid collection portion of the thermal transfer device. The outer perimeter can be configured to be no larger than an outer surface of a second wall that forms the fluid collection portion of the thermal transfer device.
Heat exchanger for severe service conditions
A heat exchanger for severe temperature and fluid flow conditions in one configuration includes a first longitudinal shell, a second longitudinal shell, and a transverse shell extending transversely between the longitudinal shells. The longitudinal shells may be parallel to each other. The shells are fluidly coupled directly together to form a common shell-side space between an inlet and outlet tubesheet. A generally U-shaped assembly of shells is thus formed. The tube bundle has a complementary U-shaped configuration comprising a plurality of tubes which extend through the longitudinal and transverse shells between the tubesheets. An expansion joint fluidly couples each longitudinal shell to one of the tubesheets. The shell-side inlet and outlet nozzle may be fluidly coupled to the expansion joints for introducing and extracting the shell-side fluid from the heat exchanger. In another configuration, the heat exchanger may be L-shaped with tube bundle of the same configuration.
HIGH PRESSURE STRIPPERS FOR USE IN UREA PLANTS
Shell-and-tube strippers for stripping a urea/carbamate mixture, related systems, methods, and uses. The stripper includes shell and a plurality of tubes disposed within the shell. Baffles and deflectors offer improved homogeneity of heating fluid flow in the stripper's shell-side space.
Heat exchanger for heating water
Aspects of the invention provide a heat exchanger that includes a shell coupled to a top tube sheet and a bottom tube sheet. The shell at least partially defines an interior region. The heat exchanger also includes a burner positioned to deliver combustion gases into the interior region. A plurality of tubes, configured to circulate a fluid therein, extend through the interior region around the burner. The heat exchanger further includes a divider that extends within the interior region from the top tube sheet to the bottom tube sheet and between one of the plurality of tubes and another non-adjacent tube of the plurality of tubes. The divider and the plurality of tubes define a receiving section of the interior region for receiving combustion gases from the burner and an exhaust section of the interior region in fluid communication with a combustion gas vent.
HEAT EXCHANGER TUBES
A tube for a thermal transfer device can include a wall having a length and having an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the inner surface forms a cavity. The tube can also include at least one first dimple pressed into the wall toward the cavity at a first location along the length of the wall, where the inner surface of the wall at the at least one first dimple is separated from itself by a first distance. The tube can further include at least one second dimple pressed into the wall toward the cavity at a second location along the length of the wall, where the inner surface of the wall at the at least one second dimple is separated from itself by a second distance. The cavity can be configured to receive a fluid that flows continuously along a length of the at least one wall.
Recuperator with balanced and floating core
A microtube recuperator for transferring heat between a high pressure fluid stream and a low pressure fluid.
Baffles for thermal transfer devices
A baffle for a thermal transfer device can include a body having a multiple first apertures that traverse therethrough, where each first aperture has a first outer perimeter that includes a first base shape and at least one first protrusion extending from the first base shape. Each of the first apertures is configured to receive a tube. The first base shape of each first aperture has a first shape and a first size that is configured to be substantially the same as the first shape and the first size of an end of a tube.
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger includes a first flow circuit structure having at least a first portion defined by a plurality of conduits and a second flow circuit structure having at least a second portion disposed at the first portion such that walls of the second portion are disposed between the conduits and are free to move relative to the conduits. Fluid flowing through the first flow circuit structure is fluidically isolated from fluid flowing through the second flow circuit structure.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGER PIPE
The present invention relates to a heat exchanger pipe enabling heat exchange between fluid flowing through the pipe and fluid existing outside the pipe, and a method of manufacturing the heat exchanger pipe. In particular, the present invention relates to a heat exchanger pipe that improves a heat exchange rate by making flow of fluid through the pipe more active and increasing a contact amount, that has an improved contact characteristic and a sealing characteristic between an outer pipe and an insert inserted in the outer pipe in the process of manufacturing, and that is easily manufactured; and a method of manufacturing the heat exchanger pipe.
