COMPACT HEAT EXCHANGER WITH WAVY FIN TURBULIZER
A heat exchanger includes a fluid flow passage with a wavy fin turbulizer. The turbulizer includes sidewalls extending lengthwise along a fluid flow direction between its first and second ends, and the sidewalls are spaced apart across the width of the turbulizer. Each flow channel of the turbulizer is defined between two adjacent sidewalls. Each sidewall has a smoothly and continuously curved profile with repeating wave forms being defined along the length of the turbulizer. The continuously curved profile of the sidewalls is defined by a non-circular shape, such as elliptical, sinusoidal, parabolic and hyperbolic shapes. The radius of curvature changes constantly and reaches a maximum at or near the inflection point between adjacent crests and troughs of the profile, to provide improved particle pass-through, lower pressure drop, and enhanced plateability of internal surfaces.
Heat Exchanger Arrangement, Method for Producing a Heat Exchanger Arrangement, and Internal Combustion Engine Having the Heat Exchanger Arrangement
A heat exchanger arrangement is provided with a housing provided with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and designed to be flowed through by the fluid. A heat exchanger is arranged in the housing between fluid inlet and fluid outlet and surrounded by the housing. The heat exchanger is arranged such that the fluid can flow through the heat exchanger. The housing has a seal contour. The heat exchanger is connected with form fit at a fluid inlet of the heat exchanger or at a fluid outlet of the heat exchanger to the seal contour of the housing. In a method of producing the heat exchanger arrangement, a seal surface of the seal contour of the housing is melted and pressed against a seal region of the heat exchanger at the fluid inlet of the heat exchanger or at the fluid outlet of the heat exchanger.
Brazeable metal sheet material, and heat exchanger with components made of the same
A brazeable metal sheet material for heat exchanger components is used for producing a heat exchanger by a controlled atmosphere brazing process. The metal sheet material is made up of a core material with a brazing layer at least on one side and a corrosion-reducing intermediate layer arranged between the brazing layer and the core material. The core material consists of an Al3000-series alloy or an Al6000-series alloy having a magnesium content of 0.1% to 1.5% by weight. The brazing layer consists of an Al4000-series alloy having a maximum of 0.2% magnesium by weight. The corrosion-reducing intermediate layer consists of an Al1000-series alloy or an Al7000-series alloy having 0.1% to 1.5% magnesium by weight.
HEAT EXCHANGER
A heat exchanger including a plurality of fluid channel plates laminated on each other to form a cooling water fluid channel through which cooling water flows and an air fluid channel through which air flows. The fluid channel plates have a cooling water inlet hole through which the cooling water is introduced and a cooling water outlet hole through which the cooling water is discharged. Beads block the flow of the cooling water, protrude between the cooling water inlet hole and the cooling water outlet hole, are arranged to surround the periphery of the cooling water inlet hole and the cooling water outlet hole, and are spaced apart such that flow resistance of the cooling water decreases as a flow length of the cooling water increases, so that flow distribution of the cooling water can be uniform.
Heat exchanger, air intake system with a heat exchanger, and method for mounting a heat exchanger
A heat exchanger for cooling intake air with a coolant is provided with a shell and first and second front faces, wherein one of the front faces is an inlet and the other an outlet for intake air. The shell has at least one coupling element disposed along a circumferential line of the shell that is spaced apart from the first front face by a predetermined distance. The shell has a port as an inlet or outlet for the coolant. The port is arranged at a spacing from the first front face. The spacing is larger than the predetermined distance. The shell has an insertion section between first front face and circumferential line. The shell has an internal duct system connected to the port for guiding the coolant into the insertion section. The coupling element can fixedly couple with at least one corresponding coupling element of an air duct.
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger for a motor vehicle may include a tube block and a flange. The tube block may multiple first medium channels and multiple second medium channels. The first and the second medium channels may extend from an inlet of the tube block to an outlet of the tube block. A medium to be cooled may flow through the first medium channels. A cooling medium may flow through the second medium channels. The flange may be configured to receive the tube block about the outlet in a fluid-tight manner. The flange may be plate-like and may have a surrounding bolting region that may be formed about the tube block.
CHARGE AIR COOLER
A charge air cooler comprising: a first heat exchange section comprising a first inlet manifold and a first outlet manifold connected fluidically by a plurality of stacked first coolant conduits; a second heat exchange section comprising a second inlet manifold and a second outlet manifold connected fluidically by a plurality of stacked second coolant conduits; a coolant inlet connected fluidically with the first inlet manifold and the second inlet manifold; a coolant outlet connected fluidically with the first outlet manifold and the second outlet manifold; wherein the first coolant conduits and the second coolant conduits are distanced within their stacks so that heat exchange between the coolant and the air is enabled, and are both situated between the manifolds of the first heat exchange section and the manifolds of the second heat exchange section.
Air Cooler with Water Separator
An air cooler assembly includes an air cooler having an air inlet manifold, an air outlet manifold, and a heat exchanger core connected at a first end thereof to the air inlet manifold and at a second end thereof to the air outlet manifold. A water separator includes a chamber having a first end and an opposed second end, an air inlet proximate the first end and connected to the air outlet manifold, and an air outlet proximate the second end. A water outlet is formed in a bottom surface of the chamber, and a channel is positioned beneath the water outlet. A condensate outlet is positioned on a bottom surface of the channel. A helical blade has a first end and a second end, and is positioned within the chamber between the air inlet and the air outlet.
Stack type heat exchanger
A stack type heat exchanger includes a plurality of first plates and a plurality of second plates. At least one of the respective first plates and the respective second plates has a protrusion protruding from a main body of the first plate or the second plate toward a first flow path, the protrusion being located at a peripheral portion of a tank space in the first flow path. The first plate and the second plate are joined to each other through the protrusion. The protrusion has a top portion and a side wall portion. A part of the side wall portion adjacent to the tank space has a thick structure portion, an entire thickness of the thick structure portion being thick in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction.
Machine system having cooler with pack seal and header assembly for same
A machine system includes a compressor, and a cooler having an inlet tank to receive compressed air from the compressor, and a header assembly attached to the inlet tank and including a plurality of cooling tubes supported in the header and each having an external heat exchange surface exposed to a flow of cooling air. The cooler further includes a plurality of graphite pack seals each extending peripherally around one of the cooling tubes, and a clamping assembly clamping the pack seals against the header to squeeze the pack seals into sealing contact with the cooling tubes and the header.
