A heat exchanger includes a plurality of first and second fluid passages. The first fluid passages are defined by a pair of opposing first fluid passage walls and a plurality of first fluid diverters disposed between the first fluid passages walls. The second fluid passages are defined by a pair of opposing second fluid passage walls and a plurality of second fluid diverters disposed between the second fluid passage walls. The second fluid diverters include a body portion and a leading edge portion. The first fluid passage walls form a first fluid leading edge that extends upstream of the leading edge portion of the second fluid diverters. The second fluid passages extend in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the first fluid passages.

The non-connected end of the first straight section is arranged for communication with a burner and the non-connected end of the second straight section is arranged for communication with an extractor for extracting combustion gases from the tube. A redirecting element including opposed helical vanes, each executing a 180° turn about a central, common tube, is arranged within the first straight section so as to redirect, in use, at least a portion of the combusted gases flowing within the upper half of the tube towards the lower half, and gases flowing in the lower half towards the upper half.

By pulling and drawing the steel into a linear shape, a smaller wire diameter is obtained, so that the composite capillary layer will not be broken easily and can be used for making a finer woven mesh which can be installed in a thinner vapor chamber.

HEAT EXCHANGER

A heat exchanger includes a tank, multiple tubes, a tube support member that supports the multiple tubes, and a shell body joined to the tube support member. The tube support member is cylindrical and includes a first-end cylindrical portion, a second-end cylindrical portion, and an intermediate cylindrical portion having a diameter smaller than that of the first-end cylindrical portion and having a predetermined length in an axial direction between the first-end cylindrical portion and the second-end cylindrical portion. The tank and the first-end cylindrical portion are welded to each other. The shell body and the second-end cylindrical portion are brazed to each other. Outer peripheral portions of the tubes are in contact with and brazed to an inner surface of the intermediate cylindrical portion.

A tube plate of a heat exchanger includes a tube plate base material to which ends of a plurality of heat transfer tubes are fixed, a first backplate that covers a surface of the tube plate base material on a first tube chamber side, and a fastener that includes at least a shaft section and fixes the first backplate to the tube plate base material. The first backplate includes heat transfer tube insertion holes through which a plurality of heat transfer tubes are inserted, and an insertion hole through which the shaft section is loosely inserted. The first backplate is joined to an end section of a second partition wall on a first end side. The second partition wall, the first backplate, and the fastener are formed of a material having higher corrosion resistance than the tube plate base material.
