MODULAR FIREARM MUZZLE ATTACHMENT SYSTEM
20200217607 · 2020-07-09 ·

A modular firearm muzzle attachment system provides for customizing muzzle attachment characteristics by assembling selectable muzzle attachment components corresponding to desired characteristics. The system includes a plurality of internal connectors engageable together in series in a selectable order to form an internal assembly having a conduit defined by channels extending through each internal connector coupled together to form the internal assembly. Each of the internal connectors is individually structured to have associated characteristics. Each of a plurality of shrouds is couplable to a selectable one of the internal connectors of the internal assembly such that the internal assembly extends through the plurality of shrouds to define a muzzle attachment configured for coupling to a firearm.

A firearm having an aim-compensation system. The firearm includes a barrel and is configured to fire a projectile. The firearm further includes a sensor disposed on the firearm that determines an orientation of the firearm. The firearm further includes a control unit that determines an intended point-of-aim of the firearm and an actual expected point-of-aim of the firearm based on the orientation of the firearm, and the control unit determines a differential of the intended point-of-aim and the actual expected point-of-aim. The firearm further includes a muzzle device arranged on the barrel which is in communication with the control unit, wherein, when the projectile is fired, the muzzle device directs a gas toward the projectile in an amount and direction based on the differential determined by the control unit so as to exert an aerodynamic force on the projectile to alter the trajectory of the projectile towards the intended point-of-aim.

TUNABLE MUZZLE BRAKE FOR A FIREARM

A muzzle brake (i.e., muzzle brake, suppressor, or compensator) directs air through ports in a top of the muzzle brake. Each pair of ports, left and right, has a corresponding baffle to which they are adjacent and form a recess in the rear face of. Each port is between 15 and 30 degrees from top center, and each port angles forward between 15 and 30 degrees. Each port is threaded such that a user may shut the port off with a set screw. Each baffle has a top tooth and a bottom tooth which direct gases from the muzzle of the firearm laterally and into the pair of ports associated with the baffle. The brake may also have lateral vents to disperse the excess gases received from the muzzle.

A muzzle brake device includes a main body having a receiver opening, a discharge opening, a central bore, and a plurality of discharge channels extending outward from the central bore at locations between the receiver opening and the discharge opening. A plurality of raised inlet members are disposed along the central bore and are in communication with the plurality of discharge channels. A separation distance between the channels is complementary to the length of the projectile to which the weapon on which the device is attached, and each of the discharge channels are arranged to emulate the vane of a turbine engine, so as to produce a mechanical force that counteracts the recoil of the weapon to which the device is attached.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR RECOIL MITIGATION

The present invention provides a novel gas impingement and recoil mitigation system for firearms that includes separate systems that reduce recoil, muzzle rise, and user fatigue and includes a system that is of variable size to match the size and caliber of firearm to which the system will attach. The system can attach to a variety of firearms through an appropriately sized standard barrel connector. As propellant gas is redirected through a ported barrel, the force of the over-pressure wave caused by the propellant blast impinges on a piston-like weight-and-spring mechanism, which thrusts forward with a force that is opposite in direction from the typical backward force that causes muzzle rise and recoil. Numerous additional aspects are disclosed.

Modular firearm sound suppressor coupler

The present invention is of a muzzle device that is either permanently fixed or releasably attached to the end of the barrel of a firearm. The muzzle device may have a configuration that reduces the loss of pressure and flow rate of the propellant gas by employing a central bore having approximately the same diameter as the bore of the barrel. The muzzle device may further have apertures with inserted adjustable screws with hollow interior portions for tuning the degree of propellant gases in various directions away from the muzzle device. The external diameter of the muzzle device may also have substantially the same diameter as the external diameter of the barrel to allow for access to firearm components without having to remove the muzzle device from the end of the barrel.
