Portable shooting stabilization assist clamp
10429147 · 2019-10-01 · ·

A portable, quick-release shooting stabilization assist clamp designed for quick and easy, single-handed attachment and detachment on to a shooting rail or similar solid object. Once attached to an object, the clamp supports a firearm fore-stock, forend, frame, stock, or barrel allowing the user a steadier aim for more accurate shot placement. The clamp provides the capacity of a rapid attachment and detachment by using a spring clamp design. In its preferred embodiment, the clamp provides a rest with two angled prongs, above the pivot of the spring clamp, to help to easily place and retain the gun on the clamp. In alternative embodiments, multiple rests are provided as well as movable, pivoting rests. In addition to assisting shooters and hunters, the clamp could also be used to stabilize a camera, telescope, small video camera, or other device that is enhanced by stabilization.

A firearm rear stabilizing crutch is disclosed having a shaft with a proximal end and a distal end, and an underarm firearm support on the proximal end of the shaft. The underarm firearm support has a support base with front and rear ends and a top element extending therebetween, with the top element defining a generally curved profile extending from proximate the front end to proximate the rear end. A support nose extends from the front end of the support base, with the support nose defining a recess therein for accommodating a firearm buttstock. The distal end of the shaft is configured to be engaged with the ground when the crutch is being used to support a firearm in a shooting position. Some embodiments of the crutch include integrated storage for the shaft and spikes.

A support pod that supports a weapon in a firing position includes a support tube telescopingly joined with a leg having a longitudinal axis. A lock portion defines grooves downwardly angled relative to the longitudinal axis. A guide portion defines recesses downwardly angled relative to the axis. The recesses can be distal and separate from the grooves, and both optionally are downwardly spiraling. The leg is operable in a locked mode, in which a lock element is in a groove, and a guide element is in a corresponding recess, to set a first overall length of the support. The leg can operate in an adjustment mode in which the lock and guide element can transition out from the groove and recess, and can move to other respective grooves and recesses chosen by a user to set the pod at another overall length. A related method of use is provided.

A biased latch subassembly is disclosed. The biased latch subassembly includes a shaft body, a rocker latch, a latch pin, a biasing member and a latch actuator. The latch pin rotatably-connects the rocker latch to the shaft body. The biasing member is disposed against the rocker latch and the shaft body. The latch actuator engages a portion of the shaft body. The latch actuator is manipulatable between at least a first position relative the shaft body and a second position relative the shaft body. When the latch actuator is arranged in the first position, the latch actuator urges the rocker latch into an un-latched position with the shaft body. When the latch actuator is arranged in the second position, the latch actuator permits the rocker latch to assume a latched position relative the shaft body. A pod assembly is also disclosed, which includes the biased latch subassembly and an indexing plate. A firearm implement system is also disclosed and includes a firearm and at least one pod assembly attached thereto. Methods are also disclosed.
