A ballistic glass assembly may include a first layer of a poly ethylene terephthalate (PET) adhesive film. The ballistic glass assembly may further include a second layer of glass. The ballistic glass assembly may also include a substantially transparent impact resistant material positioned on an opposite side of the second layer from the first layer.

Armor mounting system and armor incorporating the same

A modular armor system configured to be readily attached and detached from a frame surrounding a window in a vehicle or other structure, such as a building. The modular armor system may be configured to provide any desired ballistics protection rating. In one embodiment, the modular armor system includes a ballistics-grade armor panel having an outer strike face and an inner surface opposite the outer strike face. The modular armor system also includes a fastener coupled to the ballistics-grade armor panel. The fastener is configured to detachably couple the ballistics-grade armor panel to the frame surrounding the window in the vehicle or other structure.

Removable projectile resistant protective shield for desktops

A bullet resistant protective shield for a desk. The protective shield comprises a shield piece having a first channel coupling mechanism. The first channel coupling includes a substantially horizontal element and a substantially vertical element. The first channel coupling mechanism corresponds to a second channel coupling mechanism on a desktop, which also has a horizontal element and a vertical element. The first horizontal element and the first vertical element define a first channel and the second horizontal element and the second vertical element define a second channel. The first vertical element can be placed in the second channel and the second vertical element can be placed in the first channel thereby removably securing the shield piece to the desktop.

Light-control panel with gradual index transition

Light-control panels including layered optical components are described in this application. An example of a light-control panel includes first and second glazing layers, first and second transitional layers extending between the first and second glazing layers that guide light emitted from a light source, and a third glazing layer extending between the first and second transitional layers through which light emitted from the light source is guided. The light-control panel also includes a light extraction layer extending between the third glazing layer and one of the first and second transitional layers that distributes light emitted from the light source. The first and second transitional layers have refractive indices that gradually decrease from a first value at surfaces proximate to the first and second glazing layers to a second value at surfaces proximate to the third glazing layer in the stack-up of the light-control panel.

Anti-ballistic barriers

An kinetic object protection system for protecting a space in a building or vehicle comprising a protective barrier including one or more sheets of a laminated material having a plurality of layers of lightweight, flexible, ballistic resistant material such as woven sheets, nets, or mesh which are secured together using a glue, heat weld, or stitching. The system may include an automated control system operably configured to cause a change in state of the barrier from a retracted state to a protective deployed state, which may include a sensing system operably configured to detect a threatening event, wherein the sensing system upon sensing the threatening event triggers the barrier to transition from the retracted state to the deployed protective state such that in the protective state, the barriers are adapted to be resistant to penetration by the kinetic objects such as vehicles.
