DEFEND A PACK a bulletproof vest with backpack attached all-in-one
A utility pack is provided. The utility pack is a combination of a vest, bag and liner. The vest of the current invention, includes a back portion containing a bulletproof plate, side portions, a left front flap with enclosed bulletproof plate and a right front flap that close and fasten with velcro, forming a double-breasted vest unit made of 100% ballistic nylon material. The backpack/bag (made of ballistic material) of the current invention, includes a large internal compartment, accessible by compartment zipper and a small compartment accessible by compartment zipper, the bag is worn, using two shoulder straps that are adjustable for size and comfort, the bag has velcro strips on back portion of bag, used to fasten accompanying bulletproof vest, to form one unit. The bag houses eight snap buttons, that, when aligned with corresponding backpack liner (100% ballistic material) snap buttons, connect and form the appearance of a traditional backpack, that, conceals the attached bulletproof vest from the public eye. The utility pack of the current invention, is made in various sizes for the convenient use of all wearers.
Process to add bullet resistance to an existing wall
A method for retrofitting a preexisting wall to include bullet resistance. The retrofitted wall incorporates ballistic paver blocks that are capable of augmenting either an interior or exterior wall. The flexibility gained by using ballistic paver blocks affords cost and weight savings over traditional concrete, or alternatively, metal shielding.
Sensorially attractive puncture-resistant panel
In a first aspect, the invention provides a sensorially attractive puncture-resistant panel having a first surface and a second surface, wherein at least one of the first surface and the second surface is sensorially attractive. In some embodiments, the panel comprises, consists, or consists essentially of a first layer having a first surface and a second surface, wherein at least one of the first surface and the second surface is sensorially attractive, and a second layer that is puncture-resistant and comprises, consists, or consists essentially of a puncture-resistant material. In some embodiments, the panel is sensorially attractive to a child.
Thermal protection barrier for delaying access
A thermal protection barrier including a base layer having a plurality of baffles with perforated walls and a high melting temperature granular media disposed within the plurality of baffles. When the base layer is breached by a thermal threat, the granular media is operable to flow through the perforated walls of the plurality of baffles to provide a controlled flow of granular media to an area proximate the breach for thwarting the thermal threat.
Boron carbide and silicon carbide armour
An antiballistic armor-plating component, includes a ceramic body made of a material including, as percentages by volume, between 20% and 75% of boron carbide, between 5% an d 30% of a metallic silicon phase or of a metallic phase including silicon and between 20% and 70% of silicon carbide and wherein, as percentages by volume: more than 60% of the grains with an equivalent diameter greater than 60 micrometers are boron carbide grains, the boron carbide grains with an equivalent diameter greater than 30 micrometers represent more than 20%, the silicon carbide grains with an equivalent diameter greater than or equal to 10 micrometers represent more than 10%, the silicon carbide grains with an equivalent diameter less than 10 micrometers represent more than 10%.
Emergency Rescue Stretcher and Methods of Using the Same
An emergency rescue stretcher for removing a victim from a confined space and methods of using the same are provided.
Releasably Engagable System Of Ballistic-Resistant Panels
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a releasably engagable system of ballistic-resistant panels including a first ballistic-resistant panel comprising a ceramic plate system, the first ballistic-resistant panel having opposing first ballistic-resistant panel front and back surfaces; and a second ballistic-resistant panel having opposing second ballistic-resistant panel front and back surfaces. Additionally, the embodiments of the releasably engagable systems of ballistic-resistant panels include at least one of fasteners, an adhesive coating, or a securement element, all of which function to releasably engage the second ballistic-resistant panel front surface with the first ballistic-resistant panel back surface in fixed adjacent relation to provide releasably engaged ballistic-resistant panels.
MULTI-PHASIC CERAMIC COMPOSITE
A ceramic composite can include a first ceramic phase and a second ceramic phase. The first ceramic phase can include a silicon carbide. The second phase can include a boron carbide. In an embodiment, the silicon carbide in the first ceramic phase can have a grain size in a range of 0.8 to 200 microns. The first phase, the second phase, or both can further include a carbon. In another embodiment, at least one of the first ceramic phase and the second ceramic phase can have a median minimum width of at least 5 microns.
Transparent Projectile Proof Panels, Devices and Methods
The present application for patent is in the field of projectile-proof panels and devices and more specifically in the field of visually transparent projectile-proof panels which are light weight and suitable for goggles, helmets and other devices which benefit from being light weight.
Emergency rescue stretcher and methods of using the same
An emergency rescue stretcher for removing a victim from a confined space and methods of using the same are provided.
